The Brattleboro Turkey Trot usually is a free run/walk held each year on Thanksgiving Day, with a 1-mile kids' run at 9 a.m., followed by a 3-mile run at 9:15. This year, however, the event will be held virtually because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Participants can run or walk the actual race course (out-and-back on Upper Dummerston Rd.), starting near the Brattleboro Country Club, any time from Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 29, or you can run the distance at any location. After you finish, you can submit your time on the event's RunSignUp results page.
As usual, there's no entry fee, but you must preregister to participate and get a virtual bib. Also, we're asking participants to consider making a donation to Collaborative Groundworks or the Vermont Foodbank. Because there are no race expenses this year, all proceeds will go to those two charities.
