Description

The Town of Elmore invites neighbors and friends from near and far to join us for our 5th annual Labor Day weekend 5K Run/Walk. The event will be held on Saturday, August 31 with a fun filled 100-yard kids dash for the little ones starting at 8:30 am followed by the 5k at 9am. This is a chip timed, out and back event on a mostly flat course.

Participants start from the Elmore Fire Station on Beach Road and head past the beach front of the Elmore State Park before taking a right on to Rt 12. After passing the Elmore Store and the historic Elmore one room schoolhouse, they then turn onto Camp Road, a well-maintained dirt road that provides lake views as it meanders past the beautiful lake front homes and camps. At the end of Camp Road, just before the turn off for the boat launch, participants turnaround head back to the Fire House where there will be refreshments and healthy snacks. The top finishers will be awarded metals.

Now let’s not forget the prizes! We will again have multiple prizes and gift baskets all sourced locally. Registered participants will receive raffle tickets with their race bibs during bib pickup. Prior to the start of the race, they will put their raffle tickets into the jars of the prizes they hope to win. While everyone is out on the course the raffle tickets will be drawn and prizes will be ready for collection as participants cross the finish line.

After the race feel free to enjoy the rest of the day by taking in the scenery of the “Beauty Spot of Vermont.” There is the Elmore State Park, Lake Elmore, the End of the Season block party at the Elmore store, and don’t forget the traditional firework show over the lake after sunset! We hope to see you there!

FREE REGISTRATION for the first 30 participants, regardless of age, from Lamoille County.

Registration fees increase on Friday, August 30 to $20 for Youth and $30 for Adults.  REGISTER TODAY!
