Central Vermont Runners (CVR) and the Vermont Senior Games Association (VSGA) announce the 44th Annual Capital City Stampede road race, Saturday, June 10, in downtown Montpelier!

New this year!  CVR will award prizes to the first-place nonbinary, female, and male finishers in the race - and to the first nonbinary, female, and male finishers in each five-year age group!  (10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 34-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90 and up).

The event also serves as the Vermont Senior Games Association's 10k state championship road race for ages 50 and up. VSGA will award gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, to the top three female and male finishers (age 50 and up) based on five-year age groups.  Runners age 50 and up (regardless of home state) are dual registered (no extra cost) and eligible for Vermont Senior Games medals.

The race begins at 9:00 a.m. in front of Onion River Outdoors, 20 Langdon St, Montpelier. Race day bib number pickup is at Onion River Outdoors from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m.  The finish is at the same spot.  Please allow extra time to find on street parking. Port-a-lets will be available. Due to race insurance requirements and the use of downtown streets, headphones and strollers are not allowed. Langdon Street will be blocked off to traffic.

The out-and-back course crosses in front of the Vermont State House, proceeds to the Montpelier Bike Path, and to the turnaround on Junction Street. The flat and fast course is roughly half paved and half dirt road. Click here for the Course Map
