Frequently Asked Questions

 
1. How do I participate in this year’s Midwest YouCan Run, Walk and Roll? 

This year's Run/Walk will be in-person. You have the option to either register as an individual or create/join an existing team. 

To register, click “Sign Up” and our registration process will give you the option for the 5K run or the 1 mile walk. You can also join or create a team. Choose the option that works best for you! 

If you choose to form a team, you can share the link provided with anyone who wishes to participate or donate to your fundraiser. 

 

2. How much does it cost to register? 

It costs $40 to register for the 5K Run and $25 to register for the 1 mile walk.  

 

3. Will I receive a t-shirt?

T-shirts will only be available for those registered for the in-person run/walk on August 26, 2023. T-shirts can be picked up the night before the race or the morning of the race. More details on when and where to pick up t-shirts will be sent in a future email.

 

4. Do I receive a t-shirt if I make a donation?

You are welcome to make a donation to the Midwest YouCan Foundation or any existing team. However, t-shirts will only be available to those registered for the in-person run or walk.

 

5. How do I make a donation? 

You can make a donation of any amount by clicking on the "Donate" button at the top-left corner of our registration site. You can also donate to an existing team by clicking on “Team Fundraiser” and finding the team you wish to donate to. 

Checks or money orders should be made payable to: Midwest YouCan Foundation. Any offline donations may be mailed to the following address: 11030 Leavenworth Street Omaha, Nebraska 68154.

 

6. How do I register family members or friends online? 

Click on the “Sign Up” button and begin your own registration. After entering your information, you will have the option to “Add Another Registrant.” Click to add any additional registrants. Each registrant will be asked to agree to a liability waiver.

 

7. How do I create a Team?

To create a Team Fundraiser, click "Sign Up" and fill out your registration information along with your team members' information. Click "Add another registrant" to add additional team members. The registration site will then ask you to select your t-shirt sizes and agree to the liability waiver form. Select "Become a New Fundraiser." Each team member would need to have the "Become a New Fundraiser" button selected. Then, under "Team Fundraiser" select Yes and fill out the information for your Team Fundraiser page. When this is completed, click "Continue" to move on to the payment page.

 

8. How do I join an existing team? 

To join a team, click on "Top Fundraisers" and select "Teams." View the Team that you wish to join. Click on the "Join" button on the top right of the team's fundraiser page. Fill out your registration information. Ensure that the correct Team name has been selected under "Join a Team Fundraiser." Click "Continue" to complete your registration process. 

 

9. I am unable to attend the in-person run. How can I participate? 

We invite everyone, near and far, to join in and help us in supporting those with epilepsy! If you are unable to attend this year’s run, you can still make a donation to any existing team or to the Midwest YouCan Foundation. Steps on how to make a donation can be found in FAQ #5.

 

10. When is the last day to register? 

Participants must register by August 6, 2023 to avoid being charged a late registration fee of $10. On-site registration will be available on the day of the run. Participants who register after August 1, 2023 are not guaranteed a t-shirt. 

 

11. Are there any awards or fundraising incentives for top fundraisers or runners?

Yes! We are awarding our top three fundraisers with some very awesome prizes! Our top female and make 5K runners will receive a free pair of running shoes. All the winners will be recognized on the day of the run.
