Water Table 5K High Priority

You must be 10 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Help keep the runners hydrated! We need volunteers to manage the water tables during the race. You will stand at the 5K table location throughout the race course and be ready to hand out waters as runners approach. 10K runners may hit this table on the way back as well.

Location

Approximately at the 1.25 mile mark, right before the 5K turnaround.

Water Table 10K High Priority

Details

Help keep the runners hydrated! We need volunteers to manage the water tables during the race. You will stand at the 10K table location throughout the race course and be ready to hand out waters as runners approach.

Approximately at the 3.1 mile mark, right before the 10K turnaround.

Race Caboose Medium Priority

Details

Follow that last runner to insure all runners are ok and on course. Sweep to be sure all are off the course. Also let those water stations know that the last runner has passed through and they can start clean up!
If you see a runner who needs help, be ready to call and help as needed.

Intersection Director High Priority

Details

Be ready to direct runners to the correct course turn. Runners, especially those first ones, don't want to waste a single second at the intersection of Terrace Dr. and John Findley Dr. Direct them to take a right to stay on course!
If you see a runner who needs help, be ready to call and help as needed.

Intersection of Terrace Drive and John Findley Drive All runners will take a right onto John Findley Drive from Terrace Drive.

Turn Around Director

You must be 13 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

You will make sure those runners turn around at the correct place! You will stand guard at the 1 mile, 5K, or 10K marks to cheer and poit the runners back toward the finish line!

Along the race route at one of the turn around markers.

Set Up & Take Down

Set Up High Priority

Details

Arrive early and help us get the park set up for the race! Helping with course set up, placing water bottles out on water tables, placing signage, unloading vehicles, etc.

Oak Mountain State Park - Along course route, Dogwood Pavilion, and Start/Finish line in parking lot.

Take Down High Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Cheer Team

Race Cheer Leaders Medium Priority

Details

Bring your SPIRIT! You will be on hand to keep the spirit going and cheer at start and finish of all three race events - 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. If you are stationed at the turnaround spots, also be ready to direct runners as appropriate. If you see a runner who needs help, be ready to call and help as needed.
