Details

From the East River Trailhead on Brush Creek Road, ski, or snowmobile with checkpoint team to the junction where race course exits the East River valley and joins Brush Creek Road.



Establish checkpoint and a bonfire beacon, where team will check-off bib numbers, ensuring that all teams proceed up the Brush Creek drainage.

Participants experiencing issues early in the race (ie. gear malfunctions), may drop out of the race and need assistance finding egress out to the Brush Creek Trailhead.

East River Checkpoint Course Marshal

Details

From Snodgrass Trailhead, ski down the "Indian Trail" to where the course crosses the East River. Course Marshals will establish a checkpoint to collect bib numbers as racers exit the ski area operating boundary onto the National Forest.

This checkpoint is fast paced and requires active marshaling to ensure teammates pass this checkpoint in tandem.

A team of 2 marshals will follow the last racers as a Sweep, cleaning course markings to Ambush Ranch.

Morning shift must arrive promptly by 6:00 AM to Gondola Plaza to be shuttled by ski patrol snowmobile to the top of Aspen Mountain. Establish checkpoint where racers will enter Aspen Mountain ski area boundary. Record bib #'s of teams entering the ski area. Direct racers on how to route themselves to the Finish in Gondola Plaza.
