Course Marshal High Priority

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 10 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteer Description: Keep runners safe and on the right track! Cheer on the runners/walkers and point them in the right directions.

Location

Course Marshals will be assigned to one of the four locations along the route in in small groups of 2 or 3 volunteers.
Location #1 - Phineas & Lakeview Ave (Set of Lights at Bobola’s Restaurant)
Location #2 - Goodhue & Lakeview Ave (will direct runners in both directions)
Location #3 - Lakeview Ave and Pleasant St. (Corner of Dracut Appliance)
Location #4 - School St. & Pleasant St. (Corner at Self-Storage)
Location #5 - Parker Ave and School St. (School/field parking lot)
Location #6 - Corner of Parker Ave. & Hampson St.

Course Set-Up High Priority

Details

Volunteer description:
Help set up mile signage along the route.
Help place the safety cones along the route.
Drop off and set-up the water station supplies at their designated locations (2 locations).

Location

Along the race route.
*** Be able to drive in order to transport supplies and/or be okay with driving with another person(s) to help set-up race route/drop off supplies.

Details

Be the first SMILE the runners see when they arrive. There will be a few different possible jobs for this volunteer job.
1. Help direct people to the registration table if they need to sign-up or pick up
their bib (check-in).
2. If already registered, direct them to the start line.
3. Help distribute bibs/t-shirts to participants at the check-in table.

Volunteer Description:
Help set-up and manage the start/finish line energy. Control the flow, help hand out medals, and be there to say your CRUSH THE COURSE as runners and walkers cross the finish line.

Details

During the race: Hand out cups of water or open bottles to runners as they pass. Cheering them on along the way! Remember to to keep the area tidy and so that it is safe for all of the runners/walkers.

After the last runner: Collect and dispose of all trash, pack up supplies, and clean the area.
*** We will be by to collect the bag(s) of trash, tables and chairs at the end of the race.
