Water Stop Support (A Running Passion)

Details

Volunteers will be positioned at one of five different water stops along the half marathon course. Support will be provided by handing out cups of water and mixed Gatorade to the runners. A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to the organization A Running Passion for each volunteer. After duties are completed volunteers will be invited back to the post-race festival area in Memorial Park in Freeport for a slice of pizza and a 16oz Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin beer. Volunteers will be needed from roughly 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, although some water stops will finish sooner.

Along half marathon race course mostly in Freeport and a little of Brunswick

Volunteers will be positioned at one of five different water stops along the half marathon course. Support will be provided by handing out cups of water and mixed Gatorade to the runners. A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to the BHS Class of 2021 for each volunteer. After duties are completed volunteers will be invited back to the post-race festival area in Memorial Park in Freeport for a slice of pizza and a 16oz Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin beer (21+). Volunteers will be needed from roughly 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, although some water stops will finish sooner.

Start / Finish Line Support

Beer Garden Server (A Running Passion)

Details

A group of 4 volunteers from A Running Passion will manage the distribution of cans of beer in the beer garden to runners of age. Volunteers will open cans of beer and hand one to each runner that redeems a beer ticket and is wearing a beer bracelet. They'll also help to keep the cans cold by moving them around inside tubs of ice. Other certified staff will be responsible for checking everyone's ID and placing a beer bracelet on their wrist. Beer will only be served and consumed inside a control area. A portion of the proceeds from this race will be donated to A Running Passion thanks to the volunteers in the beer garden. The beer garden will run from 8:30 AM up to 12:30 PM. Volunteers may also receive a complimentary beer and a slice of pizza.
