What You’ll Do:
• Distribute pizza
• Help manage lines/crowd control

Why it’s Important:
• Everyone loves to get their pizza after the race
• This position helps keep people in an orderly fashion
• People don’t want to wait in a huge line; efficiency is key

Why You’ll Love it:
• You are right in the center of the action in the festival lot
• You will get to work with your friends if you’d like, or make new friends
• You’ll get to see all of the different people who participate in the race

Packet Pickup

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

What You’ll Do:
• Organize race packets
• Distribute race packets, shirts, and bibs to participants
• Requires 4 hours of standing

Why it’s important:
• Packets contain everything the participant needs for race day, plus some extras
• With so many racers, we need an organized way to get the materials out
• We couldn’t make it happen without volunteers!

Why You’ll Love it:
• Fast paced, exciting work
• You get to be a huge part of the race
• You can help out here and not miss your chance to participate in a Crim event!

Beverage Tent

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

What You’ll Do:
• Distribute beer and/or soft drinks
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age
• Help manage lines/crowd control

Why it’s Important:
• Everyone loves to get their beer after the race
• This position helps keep people in an orderly fashion
• People don’t want to wait in a huge line; efficiency is key

Why You’ll Love it:
• You are right in the center of the action in the festival lot
• You will get to work with your friends if you’d like, or make new friends
• You’ll get to see all of the different people who participate in the race

Course Support

Details

What You’ll Do:
• Block small intersections from traffic (major intersections blocked by professional law enforcement)
• Have direct contact with the Course Manager
• Be near your car in case it needs to be moved for emergency purposes

Why it’s important:
• This position ensures safety of our participants
• It keeps people from driving onto the course
• It provides extra eyes on the course for participants who need help

Why You’ll Love it:
• You’re front row on the course
• You can pull out a lawn chair and snacks and enjoy the race
• It’s a great place to have a party on the course!

Festival Lot Clean Up

What You’ll Do:
• Pick up trash and recycling around the flat lot
• Fold tables and chairs
• Take down signage and materials

Why it’s important:
• The Festival is a huge part of the Crim and has many pieces
• We want to leave the Festival Lot as clean as we found it

Why You’ll Love it:
• You can see all of the excitement of race day
• You can volunteer for this with friends, or make new friends
• You can volunteer and not miss your chance to participate in a Crim event

Volunteer Check-In

What You’ll Do:
• Check in volunteers and instruct them on where to go
• Communicate consistently with Volunteer Coordinator

Why it’s important:
• We need over 1,500 volunteers to help make Crim Day happen
• These volunteers have a wide range of responsibilities and locations
• Help distribute volunteer shirts

Why You’ll Love it:
• It’s a quick burst of really busy, followed by a lull, then really busy and fast paced
• You get to see all sorts of people before the race

Finish Line Medals

What You’ll Do:
• Distribute medals to finishing racers
• Congratulate racers on finishing their Crim race!

Why it’s Important:
• Every finisher receives a medal!

Why You’ll Love it:
• You get to see all the smiling faces of race finishers!
• You get to give them their medal they worked so hard for!

Teddy Bear Trot - Start Line

What you'll do:
- Keep the start line clear until bib colors are called
- Assist in separating heats of runners at the start line

Why it's important:
- This position will keep the event organized and running smoothly!
- It keeps participants safe by preventing too many children from starting at once.

Why you'll love it:
- Volunteers can interact with children at the Start Line and feel their excitement for the race!

Teddy Bear Trot - Finish Line

What you'll do:
- Assist in moving children through the Finish Line corral
- Reunite runners with their parents

Why it's important:
- You'll help keep the finish line clear and safe for other runners
- You'll help prevent children from getting lost

Why you'll love it:
- You will see all the smiling faces crossing the Finish Line!

- Monitor and/or lead activities and games on the lawn in front of City Hall at the Start Line

Why it's important:
- You will assist in keeping children engaged and occupied while waiting for their race

Why you'll love it:
- You can't beat getting to interact with children and play games with them!

Teddy Bear Trot - Packet Pick-Up

- Help set up check in area
- Check runners in
- Distribute t-shirts, race bibs, and goodie bags

Why it's important:
- A smooth check-in process keeps lines short and gets children to the race in time

Why you'll love it:
- You will get to hear how excited the children are to race and make sure they have everything they need for their race!

Teddy Bear Trot - Bounce House Monitor

What you'll do:
- Monitor the safety inside the bounce house
- Restrict the number of children in the bounce house at one time
- Rotate children through after the designated amount of time

Why it's important:
- You are needed to ensure the safety of the children in the bounce house and while waiting in line

Why you'll love it:
- How can you not love a bounce house?!

Expo Help

What You’ll Do:
• Help the race team set up tables and chairs
• Arrange signs and banners
• Direct vendors to their location to set up
• Remove trash

Why it’s important:
• The Crim draws thousands of people who will visit the Expo to pick up their packet and visit the vendors
• With so many people, things need to be organized
• We want to make sure the Expo remains neat and tidy

Why You’ll Love it:
• You get to be part of the pre-race day anticipation and excitement
• You get a special behind the scenes look at what happens for the Crim Race
• You can volunteer and not miss your chance to participate in a Crim event
