Volunteer shift times are approximate. You will be notified of your specific assignment and time frame once schedules are finalized.

Important Race Day Information:

Race Day volunteer shifts may begin as early as 5:00 a.m. and may last until 3:00 p.m.

All Race Day positions are outdoors and may require heavy lifting

Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with all Junior Volunteer check-in activities, including:

Distribution of volunteer t-shirts

Volunteers will assist with distributing race numbers and t-shirts to all registered Amway Junior participants. Responsibilities also include assisting parents with late registrations to ensure all participant information is accurate.

Additional duties may include:

Setup and tear down of tables and chairs

Setting out and organizing t-shirts

Keeping race numbers neatly organized

Volunteer Requirements:

Detail oriented and organized

Able to stand for extended periods of time

Physically able to lift boxes up to 20 lbs.

Volunteers will assist with directing participants and families into the bleachers, guiding groups out of the bleachers to the staging area, and helping ensure participants are lined up and ready at the start line.

Responsibilities may include:

Managing participant flow in and out of seating areas

Assisting with staging and organization at the start line

Providing clear directions and reassurance to participants and families

Volunteer Requirements:

Comfortable working with children and families

Able to stand for extended periods of time

Clear communication skills and a friendly, calm demeanor

Volunteers will assist with matching participants to their parent or guardian at the end of the event, checking race numbers against the corresponding tag given to the adult at check-in. Volunteers will also answer event-related questions.

Important: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE MATCHED WITH A PARENT/GUARDIAN PRIOR TO EXITING THE EVENT AREA.

Two Hour Club Volunteer

Friday – Pre-Event Setup:
Volunteers will work 2–3 hours to set up the Two Hour Club at River Outlook in DeVos Place. Duties include:

Arranging the layout of the space

Moving supplies from loading docks to the River Outlook area

Preparing the area for the morning event

Saturday – Event Support and Gear Check:
Volunteers will finalize the Two Hour Club setup and assist participants during and after the event. Duties include:

Placing water and Gatorade on tables

Preparing and labeling boxes for gear check

Placing gear in appropriate boxes

Setting up banners and providing directions to restrooms and event information

Assisting participants in efficiently retrieving their gear

Volunteer Requirements:

Detail-oriented and organized

Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 20 lbs

Friendly with strong customer service skills

Important Information:

Peak participant gear check times are 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.; volunteers may take a break afterward to watch the race, then return for tear-down from approximately 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to return all supplies to the loading docks at DeVos Place

Volunteers in this area will assist with setting up and managing water stations for Elite Athletes during the race.

Responsibilities may include:

Obtaining supplies from the Operations Director and retrieving athlete water bottles from the Elite Athlete Suite at the Amway Grand Hotel early race morning

Setting up tables at the 3 designated water stations, including separate stations for male and female athletes

Organizing signage and water bottles in bib number order

Staying in place until all 25K participants have cleared the area and roads are open to traffic

Returning supplies to the designated area after the event

Volunteer Requirements:

This assignment is password-protected and limited to invited individuals

Physically able to handle setup and lifting tasks

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a team environment

Finisher Medal Prep Volunteer

Volunteers in this area will assist with preparing finisher medals for race day distribution.

Responsibilities may include:

Unwrapping and bundling medals into groups for distribution

Assisting with organization and storage of medals prior to race day

Some heavy lifting may be required

Volunteer Requirements:

This assignment is password-protected and limited to individuals who have been invited to participate

Physically able to handle and lift medals and supplies

Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a team environment

Important Information:

Please commit to working all of your assigned hours — the smooth operation of our event areas depends largely on our volunteers, and we greatly appreciate your commitment

Official Vehicle Return Driver Volunteer

Volunteers in this area will assist with the logistics of returning designated race vehicles to their assigned locations.

Responsibilities may include:

Safely driving race vehicles to designated drop-off locations

Coordinating with race staff to ensure vehicles are returned efficiently

Communicating with staff regarding any vehicle or route issues

Volunteer Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to follow directions
