Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the 5K, 10K and 1/2 Marathon to TURN NORTH (Right) ON SYCAMORE. This is an ACTIVE and VERBAL role. You may bring a chair if you are unable to stand for the entire time, but please be prepared to stand as necessary to get runner's attention. Volunteer(s) are also expected to cheer for and encourage runners. Fun costumes, noise makers and silly signs are encouraged, but not required. Volunteer times shown are estimates. Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the1/2 Marathon to TURN WEST (Left) ON HIGHWAY 1 and to tell runners they MUST STAY ON THE SIDEWALK. This is an ACTIVE and VERBAL role. You may bring a chair if you are unable to stand for the entire time, but please be prepared to stand as necessary to get runner's attention. Volunteer(s) are also expected to cheer for and encourage runners. Fun costumes, noise makers and silly signs are encouraged, but not required. Volunteer times shown are estimates. Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the 10K and 1/2 Marathon. 10K Runners will be directed to turn LEFT on Cable Road at the trail/Cable Road intersection. 1/2 Marathon runners will be directed to CONTINUE STRAIGHT on Cable Road. This is an ACTIVE and VERBAL role. You may bring a chair if you are unable to stand for the entire time, but please be prepared to stand as necessary to get runner's attention. Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the 5K and 10K. 5K Runners will be directed to CONTINUE STRAIGHT on Washoe Park Road. The first time 10K runners pass they will be directed to turn WEST (LEFT) on Deer Park. The 2nd time the 10K runners pass, they will be directed to CONTINUE STRAIGHT on Washoe Park Road. This is an ACTIVE and VERBAL role. You may bring a chair if you are unable to stand for the entire time, but please be prepared to stand as necessary to get runner's attention. Volunteer(s) are also expected to cheer for and encourage runners. Fun costumes, noise makers and silly signs are encouraged, but not required. Volunteer times shown are estimates. Volunteer(s) will be directing 5K runners, coming from west Pennsylvania, turning North into the Splash Pad park entrance, to continue towards the foot bridge. This is an VERY ACTIVE and VERBAL role. Be prepared to stand the entire time and actively move in a high traffic area. Volunteer(s) are also expected to cheer for and encourage runners. Fun costumes, noise makers and silly signs are encouraged, but not required. High visibility safety gear is highly recommended. Volunteer times shown are estimates. Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the1/2 Marathon to TURN WEST (Right) ON STUMPTOWN RD. Hydration Station Volunteer(s) will be provided with a folding table, water container with water, cups and trash bags. Volunteers are responsible for filling the provided cups, as well as runner's personal water carriers. Cups should be handed to the runners when possible, while remaining out of the runner's direct path. Filled cups placed on the table should be placed on the roadside edge of table. Runners using disposable cups will drop them on the ground after they've finished the water. Volunteers will pick up ALL discarded cups and collect in provided trash bags. All provided materials should be returned to Race staff as agreed upon previously to the race. You may bring an approved shade structure for the Hydration Station. This is an ACTIVE and VERBAL role. You may bring a chair if you are unable to stand for the entire time, but please be prepared to stand as necessary to get runner's attention. Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the 5K, 10K and 1/2 Marathon.
1ST PASS: 5K Runners, coming from Sycamrore, will be directed to turn EAST on Pennsylvania. 10K Runners, coming from Sycamore will be directed to continue straight through the intersection. 1/2 Marathon Runners, coming from west Pennsylvania, will be directed to continue straight on Pennsylvania.
2ND PASS: 5K Runners, coming from Washoe Park Rd, will be directed to continue straight through the intersection to Park Ave. 10K Runners, coming from west Pennsylvania, will be directed to continue straight through the intersection, continuing on Pennsylvania. 1/2 Marathon Runners, coming from Washoe Park Rd, will be directed to continue straight, through the intersection, towards Park Ave.
3RD PASS: 10K Runners, coming from Washoe Park Rd, will be directed to continue straight through the intersection, continuing towards Park Ave.

Highway Traffic Control and Directional Assistance (Philips Lane and Hwy 1)

Volunteer(s) will be directing runners of the 1/2 Marathon to CONTINUE STRAIGHT across Highway 1 . Two to four voluneers will be dedicated to STOPPING AND STARTING TRAFFIC to allow runners to appropriately cross the Highway as necessary. This is an VERY ACTIVE and VERBAL role. Be prepared to stand the entire time and actively move in a high traffic area. Volunteer(s) are also expected to cheer for and encourage runners. Fun costumes, noise makers and silly signs are encouraged, but not required. High visibility safety gear is highly recommended. Volunteer times shown are estimates. At least 1 volunteer must remain at the station until race staff or the sweeper releases them.

Details

Volunteer(s) will be available prior to and at the START of each race. Volunteer will actively be talking to participants, helping them line up appropriately, answering questions about the course and race logistics and generally providing good vibes and energy for the event. Volunteer(s) will also be at the FINISH of each race, welcoming participants, congratulating them, directing them to water/snacks/bathrooms and answering questions about results and awards.

T-Shirt Sales Volunteer(s) will be responsible for selling any remaining event T-Shirts to spectators or participants who want more than one shirt. A cash box with change bills will be provided, as well as a QR code for purchasing via credit card, Venmo, etc.. If event donations will be accepted at the Sales table, volunteer(s) will be provided information on how to take donations.

Volunteer(s) for the awards ceremony will be responsible for organizing awards bundles prior to the ceremony, as well as handing them out to participants as awards are annouced. Do you have emcee experience?! Let the race committee know if you want to be on the microphone! Volunteer(s) will also assist with directing awards recipients to the cameraman for photos.

Bicyclist for 5k Race Lead/Sweep

Details

Volunteer Bicyclist(s) for the 5K race will lead the pack of runners on the entire race route, by staying just ahead of the lead runner. Once the lead runner has crossed the finish line, the 5K bicyclist will ride the route again, until they catch up to the last 5K participant. They will "sweep" the course, remaining behind the last participant, until they cross the finish line. As the bicyclist passes course volunteers, they must inform the other volunteers the last 5K participant has passed.
