There are A LOT of twists and turns on this course, and places where it overlaps. We have predetermined about 40 places where skeletons need to be positioned to point the way, as well as places on the ground that arrows need to be painted!

Location

Central Park near Rink #9 (park along Central Ave near Lot #4 or in Lot #4 itself and meet at the rink at 11am!

Saturday Morning Set Up

Saturday Morning Set Up!, 7:00am-9:30 am High Priority

Details

-Setting up our tables and tents
-Putting out cider & donuts
-Putting out medals
-Putting up signage, including at the bathrooms and parking

Location

Central Park, near Rink #9 on the map. Please be there by 6:30am

On The Trail from 9:45 am - 12:15 ish

Haunters for "Scare Zone" #1, 9:30am-11:00am

This is just plain fun! We're not looking to give anyone heart failure, so discretion is advised. We have 3 "scare zones" that go through wooded areas along the 5K. They will be marked.... your job is to hide in the zones in costume (you provide the costume ... it can be something as simple as a spooky mask or cool make-up). The scare zones NEED to be manned from 9:45-11:00!

Location

Scare Zone #1 (see 5K Course Map). Please be at Volunteer Check-In by 9:30am so that we can get you to your position on the course by the time the race starts at 10:00am!

2-4 people to give out water/ candy to our runners/walkers and make sure they're on the right track!

Direction Person at Mile 1 & 2 Marker, 9:30am-10:45am

This is the place where people pass through twice... they go right the first time, and left the second time. We'll have signs, but we need YOU too!

Details

You will be on the course for the 5K ... report to Volunteer Check-In by 9:30 am. You will be given a map to show you where you need to go on the trail (about 1/2 mile walk), and you will be done by 10:45 ish!

How cute is this? Just stand along the trail starting at 10:30 and give out ONE piece of candy to each child who comes through the Trick-or-Treat Trail!

At the end ... 9:15am- noon

Medal Giver-Outer: 10:30am-11:15 am, and again from 11:45-12:30

Be at the finish line giving out medals as people pass through! Be there 9:20-10:20, and again at 10:45 for the Kids doing the 1-mile Trick-or-Treat Trail!

Pumpkin Decorating Station, 8:30am-12:00ish

Details

You'll be on hand helping the kids decorate their pumpkins and making sure they can put a piece of paper with their name on it with their pumpkin so they can pick it up at the end of the race!

Pumpkin Patch Supervisor, 8:30am-the end (12:00ish)

You will be under the tent making sure people get their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, and trying to make sure everyone only gets one!

Costume Contest Sign Up, 8:30am-11:00 am

Make sure people know they have to sign up for the costume contest, and make sure the sign-up sheets get filled out

We have cute Halloween Tattoos for the kids (or kid-like adults), but we need some fun people to put them on!

Volunteer Check-In

Details

You will be under the tent with us starting at 7:30 to hand out information to volunteers about where they are supposed to report. Since volunteers are coming at different times, this needs to be manned for the whole event.

Sponsor Check In

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

You will be under the tent with us starting at 8:30 in the morning. Your job is to check in our sponsors as they come and escort them to their area where they can set up, get their packets for them, and check in to make sure they have everything they need. Aside from checking in from time to time, your obligations will be over by 10 am!

Other Tasks

Dead Last! :10:00 am-11:15ish?

Details

We need someone to be dead last! This person has to bring up the rear of the 5K so that the aid stations know when they can break down!

Location

Clean Up! 11:30-1ish

Details

Remember the 40+ skeletons we put on the course to mark the miles? We need to collect them so that they are ready to go for next year's race! We also need to take down the tents/clean up at the party area, and take down bathroom and parking signs
