Course Marshals - 5K Medium Priority

Details

Volunteer must feel comfortable walking on unlevel surfaces and assisting any runners who might fall or need other assistance until medical help can arrive. May also need to assist some runners in the course direction they need to run such as turns. Some course marshals will need to assist in passing out ankle chips and collecting them if ankle chip timing is used. Course marshals should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Course Marshals - Eaglet Fun Run Medium Priority

Details

Volunteer must feel comfortable walking & assisting the children who will be running 2 laps around the track, & also assist any runners who might fall or need other assistance until medical help can arrive. May assist in keeping spectators off the track while race is underway & at the finish line. Course marshals should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Details

Volunteer Coordinator should attend committee meetings prior to the race to become familiar with the needs of the race chairman & committee chairmen. Volunteer assists the race chairman as well as other committee chairmen as the "go to" person volunteers will check in with upon their arrival on race day. Will direct volunteers where they need to be for their volunteer position & give instructions as to what assistance is needed. Volunteer Coordinator should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Sponsor Assistants High Priority

Details

Volunteer assists sponsor chairman in acquiring race sponsors and in-kind donations. A list of potential sponsors is provided and broken down by city/village. Volunteer is responsible for collecting monetary donation from sponsor as well as sponsorship form and return to sponsor chairman. This duty starts April 1st with a final date of acquiring sponsorship no later than June 30th.

Packet/T-shirt Pickup High Priority

Details

Volunteer will assist Packet Chairman & T-shirt chairman with assembling information in the packets & sorting t-shirts by sizes prior (TBD) to the packet & shirt distribution. Volunteer also will assist with the distribution of the packets & shirts on Thursday July 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Some volunteers will also need to assist on race day distributing any packets & shirts not picked up at the Thursday packet distribution. Packet/shirt volunteers should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Race Day Registration High Priority

Details

Volunteer will assist in race day registration of participants who have not registered prior to the days event, & also assist those who did not pickup their packets prior to the race by using a computer. Must be able to type, are detail oriented, computer use knowledge & have great customer service skills. Will also need to assist by use of computer with dispersing of 5K awards once the timing information is received via computer. This volunteer MUST ATTEND a race day registration training with the race director prior to race day! Volunteer should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Water Stop Volunteer High Priority

Details

Volunteer must feel comfortable walking on unlevel surfaces to provide water for 5K runners midway through the 5K racecourse. Will assist water stop chairman in setting up & disinfecting tables (with disinfecting wipes provided). Will also need to wear gloves (provided) to pour water from 5-gallon jugs into cups for runners, set up trash can for runners to dispose of used cups, & clean up any cups on course & dispose of in trash. Water stop area must be dismantled when all participants have finished. Water stop volunteers should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

Course Set up & Course Takedown/Cleanup Medium Priority

Details

Volunteer will assist Race Chairman & Course Marshal Chairman in setting up the 5K racecourse as well as other race needs. Volunteer must feel comfortable walking on unlevel surfaces, assist with spray painting designated race assistant markers, & distributing arrow signage (turns). Must be able to lift & carry needed tables & miscellaneous items to designated areas, & assist with any other needs in setting up the start/finish line, water stop, etc. Setup will take place on Friday afternoon (time TBD) July 21, 2023, with some race day setup prior to race day registration (7:00 a.m. – 7:45a.m.). Volunteers are also needed to assist with the takedown & cleanup on race day after completion of races & walk (approx. 10:15-10:30). Course setup & cleanup volunteer should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.

General Volunteer Medium Priority

At least 10 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteer duties could include: Distributing & collecting ankle chip timers, handing out water bottles & snacks at finish line, keeping non-participants out of finish line area, & passing out ribbons to the Eaglet Fun Run participants. Need to be willing to assist with any of the other specified volunteer positions on race day on an as needed basis. General volunteer should plan to attend a short volunteer instruction meeting Monday July 17, 2023, @ 7:30 pm in the Holy Family room.
