Hand out bibs and shirts. We use dynamic bib assignment where participants aren't assigned a bib number until they show up. You will be instructed on how to do this. Unload truck, fill aid station tubs, fill water justs, set up finish line, set up cafeteria

Mile Marker Placement (Takes place both Friday & Saturday)

Details

Drive the course before race day to be familiar with the
marker locations (indicated by washers). Also before race day, get mile signs and cones. On day of race place markers for all distances (they share first 3 and last 2 miles). Weather permitting, use spray
chalk (two different colors) to indicate turns.

Sweepers - 10K

Details

Check in at TMEast. Drive/ride/run the course, watching for injured runners,
picking them up if needed. Contact EMS for serious emergencies. Tell the aid stations, course
marshals and police officers when the last runner/walker has passed. Check in (by phone)
periodically to let the Race Director know where the last runner/walker is located. Someone else
will pick up the signs and aid station supplies, but you may load things if it’s convenient.

Details

Check in at TMEast. Drive the course, watching for injured runners,

Finish Line

Assist timer as needed. Hand out finisher medals to all finishers. Watch for injuries or signs of medical problems; assist with first aid or get EMS as needed. Direct finishers to TMEast cafeteria for pancakes and the awards
ceremonies. Refill the water jug as needed. The Sweeper will tell you when the last runner has passed.

Cafeteria Supervision/Shirt Sales/Awards

Details

Stay inside cafeteria at all times to watch the equipment, direct runners and volunteers, and answer any questions. Transition cafeteria from packet pick-up to awards ceremony and sell T-shirts. Keep an eye on the cash box. If the raffle and awards are done on a pick-up basis, monitor the table and assist people in getting their
prizes and/or awards.

Course Marshals

Course Marshals (CM) A: Pacific & Hwy 8

Details

Staffed by FG Police. Check in with Race Director at Tom McCall East cafeteria. Walkers start at 8:30 and stay on the sidewalk. Runners start at 9:00 and run in the road. Stop all traffic until runners get safely to the turn onto
C Street. When the field gets down to a few walkers and the line of waiting cars gets long, direct walkers to the sidewalk. Leapfrog to B Street and Highway 47.

This is staffed by Forest Grove Police. Check in with the Race Director at Tom McCall East. Stop traffic so runners safely cross B Street. Runners should cross B Street at the end of the path, so they aren’t all over the road. (Cones will be placed to remind runners.) Once on Stringtown, the runners should keep left, going against traffic. The Sweeper will tell you when the last runner has passed.

Check in at TM East. Get a yellow vest. Just west of Dilley Road, there is a hill that obstructs the view of runners and drivers. Runners will be going against traffic, but runners and drivers need to be reminded to be cautious going
over the hill. A volunteer should be located near the bottom of the hill, both eastbound and westbound. You may not order anyone to stop, but a little friendliness goes a long way to get drivers to cooperate. The Sweeper will tell you when the last runner has passed.
