Details

Please join other supporters at a designated cheer spot on the mid course to bring joy and support to our runners as they are in the hardest part of the 5k. Fun costumes and noisemakers are always encouraged!

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. Return all supplies to Volunteer Check-In at the end of your shift.

Clean-Up

Details

Volunteers can begin as soon as race ends.  Clean up includes removal of all signage and trash, packing the trailer, and assisting the CKG team. Specific details regarding clean up will be given during race week.

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift.

First Aid

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Fun Zone - Rave Tent

Details

Fun Zones are a unique part of the SpeakUp5k vision and include a special area that runners go through during the race. Volunteers will assist in the set up, management, and clean up of the Fun Zones.  The Rave Tent is a party like no other! Complete with festive decorations and loud music, the Rave Tent is a highlight of the race course.

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Fun Zone ( Silly String)

Fun Zones are a unique part of the SpeakUp5k vision and include a special area that runners go through during the race. Volunteers will assist in the set up, management, and clean up of the Fun Zones.  The Silly String Station is nothing short of FUN!

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Fun Zone - Splash & Bubbles

Details

Fun Zones are a unique part of the SpeakUp5k vision and include a special area that runners go through during the race. Volunteers will assist in the set up, management, and clean up of the Fun Zones. The Splash Zone provides lots of laughter and helps keep the participants “refreshed”. Volunteers will use water guns to squirt the participants – not in the faces.

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Packet Pick-Up

Details

Volunteers hand out packets, race bibs, and shirts  to registered runners. 

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Parking Control

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Volunteers direct runners to proper parking spaces.  It is possible to do Parking Control and run the race.  Volunteers must be 16 or older.

Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please return all supplies to Volunteer Check-In.

Race Course Marshals

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Key volunteers to keep participants on course and respond to emergencies, if necessary. Volunteers must be 16 or older and have a cell-phone with them.

Set-Up Course

Volunteers assist in all parts of the course set up including placing signs, arrows, mile markers, yard and vendor signs, and the water station.

Start Area Volunteers

Energetic, upbeat volunteers help corral participants into waves with runners in front and walkers and strollers in the back.

Walk-Up Registration

Volunteers assist participants with walk-up registration who wish to enter the race. CKG staff members will be present to help with registration fees.

Water Station - End Race

Water Station - Mid Race
