This group will be responsible for notifying the neighborhood that we will be running through their area. They will have to put a note on each house along the 5k's path.

March 14 volunteers will be responsible for the following:
-sorting shirts
-putting together bags for racers
-making last minute signs

The end time if flexible. The faster we are done, the sooner we can leave.

Packet Pick Up

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for:
-attending packet pick up on March 26 and/or 27
-set up and take down of area
-handing out packets to runners
-keeping record of packets handed out

Registration Table

Details

Need to be ready by 6:45. Registration starts at 7:00 am to try to prevent congestion. It will already be set up upon arrival. Someone will be present to show you how to work the system IF you have not already been trained during Packet Pick Up. We will need people to work the table as well as behind the scenes to grab shirts and bags. Please check in at 6:30 am.

Water Station

Details

The cone people will also set up the water table. They will also drive you over to the water station. Please check in at 7:15 am.

The table will be set up by the cone company. You just need to hand out water to participants as well as clean up the area to prevent litter from spreading.

Race Pick Up (Sweeper) High Priority

Minimum met.

Details

Need to be ready by 7:45 am. You will start the 5k when all the runners start, but your goal is to be the last person across the finish line for the 5k. This ensures we don’t leave anyone behind. Just check in and then take it nice and sloooooow. Everyone will cheer you on when you cross the Finish Line...it’s fun. Please check in at 7:15 am.

Details

Cheer volunteers will be responsible for:
-making positive, encouraging signs to hold
-setting up in different spots along the route to cheer on runners.

Event Take Down Volunteers will be responsible for staying after the race and helping to take down the event.

Interpreter High Priority

Details

Volunteers will interpret before, during, and after the race. Possible settings: opening/closing remarks, registration table, sponsor tables, volunteer table.

IMPORTANT: Volunteer Interpreters must currently work as an Interpreter or be enrolled in an Interpreter Training Program. Student Interpreters will be paired with a certified interpreter to provide support and feedback.

You will be emailed by Lindsay Chandler once assignments have been made.

Kids' Area Low Priority

Minimum met.

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for setting up the kids' areas and keeping an eye on the kids playing. We are situated next to 15th street so we need to make sure we keep the children safe.

Sidewalk Chalk
Giant Jenga

It will be helpful for individuals to be able to communicate through sign language, but it's not mandatory.

Parking High Priority

You must be 17 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 15 more volunteers needed.

Details

Parking will be available on the East side of Vines and at Admin.

Need to be stationed around 6:30 to prevent people from parking in the lot. Direct participants to the correct parking areas.

East Side parking lot: no attendants needed
West side parking lot: Need people to prevent people from pulling in.
