This is a flexible, general volunteer role for race day. Volunteers will arrive early on the morning of the event and be given a simple assignment such as helping at vendor tables, water stations, cheer zones, or setup and breakdown.

These positions are not difficult but do require someone dependable who can arrive on time, be available, and complete the task assigned. Your presence helps the event run smoothly for all our runners and families.

Volunteer Check-in Assistant

Details

Will assist in helping volunteers at 6:00 am find their lcoations and lead them to their positions on the course and for the race. Check with information desk for location and shifts.

Race Packet Pickup Volunteer Opportunity – Academy Sports + Outdoors (Sugar Land Location)

We’re looking for volunteers to help with packet pickup for the 5th Annual Fit Foodie Family 5K & Kids' 1K!

Location: Academy Sports + Outdoors – Sugar Land
16610 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77479
Date: Thursday, May 22, 2025
Shifts Available:
• 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
• 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Volunteer tasks:
• Check-in participants
• Distribute race packets (shirts, bibs, and swag bags)
• Answer basic race day questions
• Help keep the process organized and fun!

Water Table

At least 3 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers will fill/refill small cups of water for the runners at the 1.5 mile mark. Volunteers will pick up and discard of any water cups left on ground post-race

Hand out Race Finisher Medals

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Details

Be at the the Race Finish Line at 8am and 9 am to pass out medals to the winners of the 5K and 1K race as they cross the line

Clean Up Crew

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

After the event, ensure all vendors have packed up and cleared their areas by 11 AM. Assist with discarding any loose items to keep the space clean. Additionally, confirm with the Water Station staff that the two tables and flags at the 1.5-mile marker have been collected.
