Provide parking directions to arriving drivers that follows the guidance given by the race director and park rangers.

Course Marshal/Road Crossing Monitor ONLY

Sunday, February 22: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are the key responsibilities. Duties include a proper understanding of the course and ensuring that runners avoid vehicular traffic. Being confident and being loud (if necessary) are pluses.

You also are a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on course. Feel free to act crazy, scream, cheer, laugh — anything to bring out a smile on our runners faces!

MUST WEAR A SAFETY VEST (provided by RRRC at check-in)!

This position requires attendance for the duration of the event.

Course Sweeper 10-Miler

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Sunday, February 22: 8:15 AM - 12:30 PM

You start with the last runner/walker at 8:50 AM and jog/walk the course with or behind the last 10-Miler participant. After you cross Bear Creek Forest Road (approx. 2.2 miles), you'll pick up any course direction signs that are not at a roadway and deliver them to the next course marshal. You'll confirm with course marshals that you're the last person on the course and dismiss them from their assignments. You'll keep the race directors informed by text message of the position of the last race participant. And you'll generally ease the angst of the race directors about leaving anyone out on the course.

You'll confirm with course marshals that you're the last person on the course with the Mini participants. You'll keep the race directors informed by text message of the position of the last Mini participant. And you'll generally ease the angst of the race directors about leaving anyone out on the course.

Water Stop ONLY

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Sunday, February 22: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM

This position is responsible for monitoring the water stop and being a supporting presence on the course.

We'll be using a handsfree system to allow runners to fill their own bottle, cup, or hydration bladder. We will NOT have disposable cups at the water stops.

This position requires attendance for the duration of the event.

Start/Finish Area ONLY

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Details

Sunday, February 22: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

This position is stationed at the start/finish area. Duties are at the direction of the race director and timer. You may be directing runners into starting corrals, assisting with timing (manual and/or digital), directing runners as they finish to pick up their post-race food bag, and helping set-up/break-down start/finish line equipment.

You also have a key role in cheering on our runners as they start and finish their race!

This position requires attendance for the duration of the event.

Some lifting is required. Standing for long periods of time is required. This assignment is outdoors. Please dress appropriately based upon the weather at event time. Please bring your own hydration, snacks, sun screen, etc.

Children under the age of 15 and pets are prohibited in this position.

Assignments may include Course Marshal, Water Station, Start/Finish Area, or Check-in. You may receive an email a few days in advance of the event with a specific assignment, but depending upon event needs, you may not receive your assignment until you are at the event.
