Registration Area (Bib, T-shirts, etc)

Details

Assist the registration area by distributing the pre-registered runner’s bib numbers, and answering questions. Computer knowledge is necessary for this position since Mettle Events is a "green" company and use kiosks for registration. After registration closes, we ask registration volunteers, who have not signed up to volunteer elsewhere, to please check back in with Volunteer Check-In before leaving to ensure all positions have been filled in case we need a volunteer elsewhere.

Course Marshal

Direct participants along the course and offer assistance when needed.

Finish Line Area

Details

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, assisting with timing, set up of finish area, hand out medals, passing out water and other various duties as deemed necessary by Race Director or Timer.

Start Line Area

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, assist with setting up the start line and other duties as needed. After assisting at the starting line, we ask that start line volunteers who have not signed up to volunteer elsewhere, to please check in with Volunteer Check-In before leaving to ensure all positions have been filled in case we need a volunteer elsewhere.

Volunteer Check-In

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, assist with checking in and distributing all volunteers to their assigned location on race day.

Water Stop

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, settimg up water stop on the course. Hand out water to ALL participants as they pass, must keep water station up/open until the last participant passes the water stop. Most of the events have a “Sweeper” following the last participant. Therefore, to ensure all participants have the opportunity to receive adequate hydration, do not break down the water stop until the “Sweeper,” or Race Official, has confirmed it is okay to break down the water stop down. Once okay to break the water stop down, the clean-up and break down of the stop may begin. All cups in the area should to be picked up, including cups any that are in and down the street, etc. the Water Stop should look like it did when the volunteers arrived.

Hospitality Area

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, setting up food and refreshments. Please keep both stocked while you can, keeping in mind that we need to have food and refreshments for the walkers and those in the back of the pack when they finish. ALL FOOD AND DRINKS are for participants & volunteers only, unless the Race Director, or other race officials, tells you differently. A ticket, bib, wristband, hand stamp (final details will be provided morning of) will be required for food/beverage. No ticket/bib = no food/beverage

Race Set-Up

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, setting up tables, tents, chairs, trash cans, hang banners, and install fencing for the race. This activity may require some heavy lifting (40-60 lbs.)

Clean Up & Tear Down

Details

Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to, start post race clean up and following the race, all materials will be broken down and loaded on trucks for return and storage. This activity may require some heavy lifting (40-60 lbs.)

Course Marshal Coordinator

Looking for a take charge person to be the lead individual to be sure all Course Marshals get to their designated location and understand their responsibilities.

Water Stop Coordinator

Looking for a take charge person to be the lead individual to be sure all Water Stop volunteers get to their designated location and understand their responsibilities.

Photographer High Priority

Minimum met, 4 volunteer spots remaining.

Details

Photographers with own equipment needed to take candid and finish line photos. Provide media to the race organizers to publish on the event website.
