PARKING and CARPOOLING
Parking. Street parking at the start is plentiful. Parking can easily be found within a few blocks. On the other hand, mid-day parking at the finish line is possible but very difficult. …Especially if it is a nice day at Alki Beach. We therefore suggest that you do one of the following:
- > Arrange for someone to pick you up at the finish line.
- > Park at the start and arrange carpooling from the finish line back to the start.
- > Park your car at the finish line before the race and car pool to the start.
Carpooling. Please feel free to use our Facebook discussion area to post carpooling offers or requests. Although impromptu carpooling will likely be available from the finish line back to the start, making prior arrangements is absolutely encouraged. Car travel time between the Alki Beach Bathhouse and the start line is about 35 minutes. Here is a map if needed: http://bit.ly/AlkiToKent
Finish line transportation. If you can offer a ride, please let one of our volunteers know at the finish line. If you need transportation, we encourage you to be assertive about asking volunteers and other participants about getting a ride. One way or another, we have always come up with transportation in the past.
Public transportation. If you use public transportation, please keep the following in mind. The Route 50 bus is the only route in service on the weekends and involves walking a couple of blocks from the finish line. If you have a smart phone, consider downloading the “Trip Planner” app. Otherwise check online at: http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/

COURSE SUPPORT
Hydration stations. Bring your own water bottle as cup supplies are not guaranteed. Water and Gatorade will be dispensed at 10 interspersed locations along the course and at the finish. Early starters are encouraged to bring a hydration backpack or other hydration supplies because the first few water stations will not be set up in time for them. For more hydration station information, see: http://www.greenrivermarathon.com/volunteer.html
Porta-potties. Be careful not to over hydrate before the race. The only event provided porta-potties will be at the start and at mile 13 between the hours of 9:40 and 11:10. There are a few public restrooms along the course but none of them are guaranteed to be open or cleaned. At the finish, the Alki Bathhouse has restrooms. Restrooms can also be found at many of the local Alki businesses.
Clothing check. Bags can be left at the start to be transported to the finish line. If you have a clothing check bag, give it to one of the volunteers at the start when you check in. Never put anything valuable in your clothing check bag as it will not be secured from theft.
