Description
I can and I will is the mantra Olivia and her mom, Alisa, have been saying since 2018. Whether it's prepping to be poked by a needle or running up a big hill, we remind ourselves that we can and we will! We take these words to heart and they have been pushing us to do big things!
Our goal with this run is to raise money for the Uncompensated Care Fund at Seattle Children's Hospital. Race day is Sunday, October 19th, 2025. The event offers kids dashes, a professionally timed 5k and a 10k, as well as a virtual run for our friends and fans who are not able to travel to Seattle. The start will be at Green Lake Community Center using both the inner trail, and surrounding parks for the 10k, finishing back at the start. The kids' runs will be held near the starting line after the other races are completed. We will have t-shirts for those registering early as long as supplies last as well as finisher medals!
We created this event to help Seattle Children's Hospital provide world class care to patients regardless of their ability to pay. Everyday a family walks into Seattle Children's Hospital and learns something that will forever change them. No parent should have to deal with a difficult diagnosis for their child and face financial hardship when seeking care for their child.
Every step you take will make a difference in the lives of families who are impacted by a devastating diagnosis and wondering how they will pay the medical bills. 100% of race net proceeds from this fun run will benefit uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Thank you for your participation and help. You are ensuring that families can focus on their child's wellbeing; not the medical bill in their mailbox.
If you've been to the Run before, awesome, thank you for the ongoing support! And if you are joining us for the first time, welcome to the party!

The Run Routes!
This year the 10k will be two loops around the lake going counterclockwise. The first loop will begin at our usual starting point by the baseball fields and near the basketball hoops. The run will head towards the lake then turn right on the inner trail. The route will then cut off past the boat house and golf course, going towards the outer path. Runners will stay on the outside loop passing the east pathway and will continue on the outer trail, guides will lead runners back into the trail to stay off the outer trail, that runs along Aurora/HWY 99, and then head back out past the golf course, as they did with the first loop. The race will conclude at the east path where runners will turn in at the finish.
The 5k will be one loop around the lake, going counterclockwise. Runners will be on the inside trail to start and then guided to the outer trail just past the golf course. The runners will then stay outside until they get back to the front of the park and then guided back into our start/finish.
See the route here.
