#ShineLikeShi Virtual Charity Event

The 2022 "#ShineLikeShi" event is going to be a Virtual Charity Fundraiser for a local cause and one that is very close to our hearts.
In May of 2019, our daughter Shianne (age 19) was killed by someone that claimed to love her. It was not random - it was very targeted and specific. She was a victim of domestic violence. Shianne grew up in Spokane. She was a bright light - a cheerleader, runner, and leader who loved everyone she met, laughing, and photography. After graduating from Central Valley High School and Spokane Community College in June 2018, she signed up for the U.S. Navy and became a Corpsman. She was stationed in Portsmouth, VA. 🇺🇸

This year we would like to donate all funds raised to the "End the Violence - Spokane" campaign through the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition. Spokane County has the highest domestic violence incidents in the state of Washington. It experiences higher rates of child abuse, neglect, and other forms of violence than other areas of the state. The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified this and added stress to our community.  We would like to be able to help support this campaign that will allow the community to access information they need, ensure accountability and safety for victims, provide systems that inspire trust among community members, allow for services and resources to those impacted or at risk, and whole family healing for families. 

This charity event will be a "By Donation" raffle. There will be at least 2 drawings:

✨(1) for a Mark Few signed basketball (Gonzaga University's Mens Head Basketball coach), and

✨(1) pair of tickets to a 2022-2023 Gonzaga University Mens Basketball conference game at McCarthy Athletic Center (Spokane WA). For every $20 donated, each participant will be entered into the drawing of their choosing (or none, if they so chose). 

Example: 

Participant "A" donates $20 and chooses the game ticket raffle. They will have (1) entry. 

Participant "B" donates $60 and chooses the signed basketball. They will have (3) entries.  

🏀✨ In addition, each person that donates will be entered to win (1) 2022 Gonzaga Men's Basketball Team Autographed Ball.🏀

While we are choosing not to organize a Virtual 5k event this year, we still would like to encourage everyone to go outside, move your body, lift your face towards the sun, and #ShineLikeShi.
🌻 For those local that wish to join us, we will be actively walking/running on the Centennial Trail located by the Mirabeau Meadows Park 5/7/22 @10am. 

In addition, everyone that signs up will receive a #ShineLikeShi keychain to take along with you on your adventures - driving, hiking, running, or wherever you travel to.  💛
