Description
ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Bill Burby Inspirational 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk, a favorite tradition of the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival. Costumes are encouraged! It's a FUN run! The race is named in honor of Bill Burby, a beloved coach, teacher and one of the race founders who died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest. Since its inception in 1980, funds raised from this race have helped support Vashon Island High School athletic programs. A portion of the money raised also funds the Bill Burby Wellness Scholarship, awarded annually to a high school senior.
GENERAL RACE INFORMATION
Both the 5K and 10K courses will start and finish at the VYFS Playspace. All participants will finish in time take part in the annual Strawberry Festival. Enjoy our home town parade, live music, carnival, food, street dances, and an arts & crafts fair featuring local artists. Invite your friends to join you. Make it a family day and mini vacation!
