Description
The Cupcheck Cancer Tournament is a friendly indoor pond hockey style tournament held each year to raise money for Glioblastoma brain cancer research and awareness. It is also a time to honor the life of Kevin Wagner who loved the game of hockey. Our mission is to give back to those who like Kevin's family received so much help and love while battling brain cancer. Tournament Information
- Registration Fee: $400 per team
- Age Category: you must be 18 years old by the date of the tournament.
- Team Size: 3v3 format with a 5 player minimum, 7 player maximum to a team. This is an indoor pond hockey style tournament.
- There will be three divisions separated by a team's indicated skill level. Division A - Beginner to Intermediate, Division B - Intermediate to Expert, Division C - Expert. We reserve the right to move teams to a different skill level if necessary.
- The schedule for each division will be sent after registration closes. Registration closes on May 1st.
- Check in time is at 8:00 a.m. Players must check in at the check-in table before playing their first game.
- Games will consist of two 15 minute periods of play with a 2 minute intermission between periods. Games are played on half ice. The tournament will start with pool play within each division and will include a single elimination championship round, a consolation bracket for teams that don't make it into the championship round, and a final championship game for each division. Teams are guaranteed at least 3 games with some playing 4 for the championship games.
- No Goalies: Fast-paced action with non-stop scoring opportunities.
