July 4, 2026
Toledo, OH 43604 US

Why Run the River!?

The WTOL River Run is a beloved Toledo tradition that brings runners of all ages together for a scenic, high-energy race along the Maumee River, and this year it’s getting an exciting new home at Ostrich Town in the heart of downtown Toledo. With its lively atmosphere, walkable streets, and riverfront views, the new location puts participants right in the middle of the city’s momentum and makes race day feel like a full-on celebration.

Make sure to come out and join since the community really shows it's spirit as well as celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

More than the fourth of July, this year celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Indepence. The WTOL River Run celebrates America by honoring the values of perseverance, community, and pride in place, bringing people together in a shared, red-white-and-blue spirit of movement and unity.
