Where is the 0.5K being held?
The Zoo Brew 0.5K is held at the Blank Park Zoo: 7401 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50315.
What time should I arrive on May 23rd?
Packet pick-up is open from 7:00 am – 7:50 am. Entertainment and sampling begins at 8:00 am. "Runners" will be divided into groups and called to line up for the 0.5K through the Zoo in slots starting at 8:05 am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to give yourself time to park and line-up.
What happens if the .5K needs to be postponed due to COVID-19?
We are monitoring recommendations and guidelines set on the state and federal level. If the .5K needs to be moved, the back-up date is August 15 or August 22. We will communicate with participants as soon as possible if changes will be taking place.
Can I bring my children?
The 0.5K and Zoo Brew are limited to those ages 21+. Families are welcome to enjoy the Zoo during normal Zoo hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
What do I receive with my registration?
All registrants receive a Zoo Brew 0.5K shirt and bib number for timing, as well as complimentary water, samples from local breweries, live music, and access to the Zoo for the day.
Will my run be timed?
Yes, each runner will have a timing chip attached to their bib. Results will be emailed directly. If you would like to opt out of being timed, which saves the Zoo 50 cents, there is an option to do so as you fill out the registration form.
Will there be food at the event?
Breakfast options will be available for purchase.
Can I walk around the Zoo with my alcoholic beverage like a normal Zoo Brew evening?
Since the Zoo will be open to the general public at 9:00 am, all alcoholic beverages need to stay in the designated Zoo Brew area, in and around the Zoo Plex building. Zoo Brew guests may leave and re-enter the designated Zoo Brew area.
Can I pick up my race t-shirt/bib/timing device before Race Day?
Yes, in fact we highly encourage it!

Confluence is hosting a release party for Ayana's Rhino Rye. Come out and enjoy your favorite brews, a portion of sales go back to the Zoo, while picking up your t-shirt and race bib.
Where do we park?
Please enter the Zoo through the main gate off SW 9th Street. The overflow parking lot will be available.
Who does the 0.5K benefit?
So glad you asked! 100% of the proceeds benefit the Zoo’s mission of inspiring an appreciation of the natural world through conservation, education, research and recreation.

Is my registration payment refundable?
No, refunds are not allowed for this race. You may transfer your registration to another person through RunSignUp.com. Complimentary Zoo admission, included in registration cost, is applicable for only the date of May 23, 2020.
