Working families throughout Broward County are having a tougher time this year making ends meet. With the costs of rent, groceries, and utilities skyrocketing, many residents are living paycheck to paycheck, one small mishap from being homeless.
That's where the Society of St. Vincent de Paul comes in. Thanks to your generous contributions, we've been able to visit households in need, pray with them, and help them get back on their feet: providing food, clothing, and furniture; keeping the electricity and water on; paying for transportation or car repairs so they can get to work; even handling an eviction notice.
But the need is greater this year. We wish we could do more. That's where YOU come in.
For this year's virtual Walk for the Poor®, I'll be walking or running two miles each day from March 18-26. Why two miles? Jesus tells us, "Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles" (Matthew 5:41).
Please support me by donating to this fundraiser. I listed my goal as $400, the average amount given by my conference last year to a person who asked for help. Help me help one more person!
