Severe Weather

Weather:
Severe weather is always a possibility and unpredictable.  We will not make any race decisions until race morning. If thunderstorms/heavy rain hinder morning preparations on our crew/volunteers there could be a delay to get the event ready for a safe race. If thunderstorms/heavy rain arrive near the start of the event...there could be a delay to let it pass. We work directly with our safety team and adjust according to what Mother Nature is tossing out at us. If the delay gets to be to late into the day there could be reason to alter the event prior to starting. This rarely happens, but in a situation were we can race, but maybe not all distances.

Severe Weather Arrives While On Site/During Travel:
If severe weather pops up during your travel, or while your on site please stop what you are doing and implement your own personal safety plan. Seek shelter, and let the weather pass. The Richard A. Carlucci Recreation Center will be open for participants and spectators to seek shelter.

Severe Weather During Race:
If severe weather occurs DURING THE RACE at any point-please know the race will IMMEDIATELY be cancelled. Timing will be shut down. With our best efforts we will have our safety team and staff spread out notify athletes and volunteers that the race is called off, and to implement your personal safety plan. SEVERE WEATHER including, but not limited to Thunder/Lightening will cancel the race. Stop racing, and seek shelter/coverage.

COMMUNICATING UPDATES:
All updates will be made via email, social media post on our Back Your Badge Marathon event pages (twitter/Facebook), and via on site announcements as best as possible.
