When and where is the Go Big Blue 4 Miler?
The race will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Parking will be in the Blue Lot (East of the Stadium near Alumni Drive) and Race Headquarters will be near Gate 12 where the race will start. The 4 Miler, 1.35 Mile Walk and Kids Dash will finish on Kroger Field.
Are walkers permitted to participant?
Absolutely we encourage runners and walkers alike to participant in either the 1.35 mile fun run/walk or the 4 miler.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are not permitted for the 4 Miler race due to safety concerns (running on numerous surfaces). We do allow strollers for the 1.35 mile fun walk.
Are dogs allowed?
Due to the expected size of our runner/walker race field dogs are not permitted in the race.
When and where is packet pickup?
Friday, August 16th from 3-7pm at Kroger on Euclid/Chevy Chase (701 Euclid Avenue, Lexington, KY 40502)
Saturday, Aug from 6-ust 17th (Race Day) from 6:00-7:30pm at Kroger Field outside of Gate 12
Can I pickup the packet of a friend or family member?
Yes we allow participants to pickup for other friends and family members. No credentials or identification is necessary.
Will there be restrooms available?
Yes there will be indoor restrooms available in the lower concourse of Kroger Field and along the 4 miler course at the softball field and also at the track.
When is the latest I can sign up?
Online registration will remain open until the start of the race on August 17th. You may also register in person at Gate 12 from 6-7:30pm on the day of the race.
Will the race be timed?
Yes our Go Big Blue 4 Miler is being professionally managed and chip timed by RaceRise (www.RaceRise.com). All participants of the 4 Miler will have a disposable timing chip affixed to their race bib. Bibs are to be worn in the chest/torso area and visible to race officials and volunteers. The Kids race and 1.35 mile fun run/walk will not be timed.
What more can you tell me about the Junior Wildcat Club Kids Race?
The Junior Wildcat Kids Race is an untimed run/walk for children ages 2-12. The race is 1/2 mile in length and finishes on Kroger Field. We will start this race at 8:15am. It will be a safe route with volunteer marshals at every turn. Parents of little ones are welcome to run/walk with their child(ren).
What food and drink will be available at the race and along the course?
Kroger Simple Truth will be providing the food and drink for the Go Big Blue 4 Miler. There will be water served along the course and bottled water, bananas and other snacks at the post race Go Big Blue 4 Miler Tailgate Celebration.
How does someone volunteer for the race?
Volunteers can sign up right on this page. Our volunteer shift on race day lasts from 5:30-9:30pm. Volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and food at the race.
What are the award divisions, age groups for the race?
For the 4 Miler we'll award Top 3 Overall Male/Female as well as Top 3 Male/Female in the following age categories 0-10, 11-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-59, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
