Description
Join us on the evening of October 7, 2017 for this beautiful night race! The 10k is an out and back and the Half Marathon is a 2 loop course of the James M Robb Colorado River State Park. Both courses encompass the Corn Lake and Pear Park Sections of the Riverfront trail where you'll traverse through protected wetlands and watch the moon rise over the Grand Mesa. The course will be dark by the middle of the race with solar lights lighting the course but it won't be enough to light your way so headlamps, knuckle lights or a flashlight are required. Each runner is required to wear a safety vest and we strongly encourage the creative juices to flow with as much glow-in-the-dark stuff you can fit (and wear comfortably) on your body!
With a 5 hour time limit for the Half Marathon and a 4.5 hour time limit for the 10k, Moonlight Miles is ideal for walkers and runners of all abilities. All participants MUST wear a safety vest and have some form of light (knuckle, head, flashlight). These are not provided by the race.
The course follows a cement bike path for all of the route except for a portion on dirt which goes around Corn Lake for the half marathon.
