FAQs
What do I get for my registration?
All participants receive: Participant Shirt, timing, full course support including hydration and snacks, participant parking, finish line snacks, unique finisher's medal and the Finisher Celebration Cook Out.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
For the half marathon, participants must be at least 13 with parental consent. For the 10k, participants must be at least 6 with parental consent. To enjoy the after race beer, participants must be at least 21 and valid ID must be presented at packet pick up and worn during the Cook Out.
When/Where is Packet Pick Up?
Packet pick up will be on October 7, 2017 at the event venue, Corn Lake, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. You will get your participant t-shirt and bib and your ID will be verified and a wristband issued if you want to enjoy a beer after your race. Your bib will serve as your Celebration Cook Out ticket. We will also verify that you have the required safety equipment - a safety vest and some sort of light (headlamp, knuckle lights, flashlight).
Can my friends or family join me for the Celebration Cook Out?
Yes! At packet pick up you can purchase meal tickets for your friends and family for $5.00 each.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Transportation is not provided to or from the event. There is parking at Corn Lake and the parking fee is included in your registration (you'll be given a pass to display in your windshield). Friends and Family who come to support their runner will either need to have a Colorado State Parks permit or purchase a one-time use pass for $7.00 at the self-service station at Corn Lake. Park Rangers will be patrolling the area so please be sure to follow the parking permit requirement.
Parking
Please park only in designated spaces. Corn Lake is a protected use facility and the vegetation that surrounds it is delicate. Park Rangers will be patrolling and will cite or tow any vehicle not parked appropriately.
I have friends and family who want to cheer me on, can they?
Absolutely! If they arrive separately from you, they will have to purchase a Colorado State Parks one time use permit for $7.00 from the self-service station at Corn Lake. If they want cheer you along the course, the easiest access points are at the start/finish area, 30 Road and 29 Road. If family or friends would like to join you at the Celebration Cook Out, they can purchase a Campfire Ticket for $5.00 each (includes meal, S'mores and drink).
We ask that your furry friends stay home. We can pack them up a doggie bag if you'd like!
What can/can't I bring to the event?
While we love our four-legged friends, they are not allowed at this event. Service animals are excepted. We recommend bringing lawn chairs for the Celebration Cook Out. iPods are allowed as long as only one ear bud is used - with the dark and limited vision, it is important that you can hear others on the course as well as any directions that might be given by race staff or Park Rangers.
What hydration and fuel do you use?
Our hydration is by Skratch Labs and will be Orange and Pineapple flavors. Fuel will be Honey Stinger Energy Gel. Water will be available at every station as well. There will also be fruit and snacks at each station.
Something has come up and I will not be able to participate. Can I transfer my bib to another runner? Can I get a refund if I cannot participate and cannot find someone to transfer my bib to?
Yes. Your registration can be transferred to another runner with a $20.00 transfer fee. All transfers must be completed by September 15, 2017. Requests received after that date will not be honored. Moonlight Miles does not provide refunds in accordance with our Refund Policy.
Participant Limit/Guaranteed T-Shirt
There is a participant limit of 150 for both the 10k and the Half Marathon. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations received after 1 September 2017.
What is the refund policy?
To produce a world-class event, Starunner Enterprises must coordinate our efforts and plan well in advance, making it difficult and costly to make changes after registration. Many items are ordered months before the race and purchased according to the original information provided during registration. As a result, and similar to other races in the industry, Starunner Enterprises does not refund entry fees nor do we defer to another race. This policy applies to individuals with injuries, unexpected business, family emergencies, etc. Additionally, the fee is nonrefundable if the event is canceled due to the threat or acts of God, weather, war, terrorism, disaster, earthquake, government regulation and/or for economic/financial reasons. Starunner Enterprises does not offer refunds, exchanges, rolloevers, deferrals or transfers outside of the stated transfer period.
What is the weather policy?
The event may be canceled due to extreme weather that would cause safety concerns for participants, volunteers, observers and staff but generally will go on rain or shine. Decisions about weather closure will be made and announced through the website, social media, email and phone and with consultation of local emergency services personnel.
