--What is a virtual run event?
A virtual run is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on a trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. If you choose to double-dip your miles you can even include miles from another race. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Submit your miles on the results page and your medal will be shipped directly to you upon completion!
--Do I have to run every day, or can I break it up and run more on certain days?
You can run or walk as much or as little as you want throughout the week. Just make sure your full event mileage is submitted by December 31, 2020.
--Do I have to run the whole way?
Walk, jog, run! A mile is a mile.
--How do I track my miles? Will I need to submit proof of the miles I complete?
Any GPS watch, tracker, or phone app will do the trick. Treadmill miles are welcome as well. No proof needs to be submitted. We are all on the honor system here.
--If I am running in another race during this run can I also count the miles toward Chase the Jester Across California?
It is your choice to decide if you would like to double-dip on your miles. We will only be looking at the miles you submit on our Results page to check for completion.
--If I join after the start date, May 25, can I report the miles I have completed since the start date before I signed up?
While you can join anytime before the end of the year DO NOT start counting your miles until the day your register.
--How will I report my miles?
Miles can be submitted daily on the "Results" page found on the Homepage Menu bar. Your progress will automatically be tracked and updated within minutes.
--Are there teams?
This event was set up as an Individual event.
--I see that I can sign my dog up, do I report his/her miles also?
Under the assumption that your fur baby will not sneak out at night to run without you and surpass your mileage, we only require that you submit your miles on the Results page knowing that Fido ran with you. When we ship out your medal, we will include theirs.
--Do I get a finisher's medal?
YES! We will have large event-specific Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals for all finishers that we will ship to you upon completion of your run. If you complete multiple events you will receive a medal for each event. The Jester Triple Crown will receive a BONUS medal as well. And don't forget fur baby participants will receive their own medal that will be shipped with yours!
--Can I register after May 25?
Yes! You can register anytime, even after May 25, but you will still only have until December 31 at midnight to complete your event miles.
--What do the medals look like?
Each medal will be a large California shaped bronze, silver, or gold color with event course inspired icons. The Jester Triple Crown will be a fun Jester themed bonus medal. We will post the finisher's medal design once finished!
--Where is my bib and how can I print it out?
On your runsignup.com profile, you can view and print your bib by going to Upcoming Events, find Chase the Jester Across California, and clicking "View Pre-Race Bib."
--I live outside of the United States, can I still participate?
Definitely! All participants are welcome from anywhere in the world.
