Join the Two Wolf and Mission2Alpha Foundations for the first annual South Mountain Challenge on October 22nd, 2022!
If you are looking to to do an epic hike for a great cause then we have your event! Participants will park in the main parking area and then move to the Y which is the beginning of the ascent to the top of South Mountain. South Mountain (Affectionately called “somo”) is a favorite climb among Phoenix cyclists and hikers, right in the south Phoenix metro area about a 20 minute ride from downtown. The climb is a gradual slope filled with winding turns and a final climb that will challenge any athlete! All in, each participant will climb approximately 2500 vertical feet over 7 miles!
We will have multiple categories including:
- Military Standard: this group will follow behind soldiers carrying flags and rucks.
- Fastest Male: under 40, 40-50,50-60, 60+
- Fastest Female: under 40, 40-50,50-60, 60+
- 25lb Ruck Challenge: (Male & Female 1st place)Each participant will be required to bring a ruck which weighs 25lbs on the nose! Rucks will be weighed prior to start. (we recommend sand bags or water containers inside the ruck)

Our mission is to promote post traumatic growth, healing, and purpose in the lives of combat veterans and first responders through service based land stewardship programs and conservation projects in partnership with public land agencies. Two Wolf Foundation is also committed to aiding research efforts on wilderness based recreational therapy for combating the effects of service related trauma.
