West Hills College Lemoore Student Nurses’ Association is hosting their first ever Milk & Cookies 5K to raise funds for the National Convention being hosted in Orlando, Florida this upcoming April 2020.
We are eager to send members to this convention, as it allows for our students to explore new opportunities, advocate for smaller nursing programs, interact with fellow nursing students and advisors, all while gaining knowledge that is able to be brought back to our campus and implemented into practice.
Our association aims to mentor students and provide further insight to the nursing profession. We focus on educating community members on healthcare topics such as monitoring blood pressure, maintaining adequate hydration and nutrition, staying active, and preventing the spread of diseases through handwashing and vaccination.
This year we would like to focus this event on Milk & Cookies because January 11, 2020 is National Milk Day! We want to make this event light-hearted and fun, all while being able to engage the community in a safe and fun family activity!
