Walk for Weims is designed to be flexible and inclusive. You can participate anywhere on April 12, National Weimaraner Day.

Walk your neighborhood, favorite park, hiking trail, beach, or even your treadmill. Whether you walk solo, with your own pack, or join a local meetup, every step supports Weimaraner rescue.

Find a group walk after you register? No need to re-register. Your registration works for both virtual participation and organized walks—just show up and walk with the pack.

However you participate, you’re part of a nationwide community supporting Weimaraners in need.

3/29/2026 UPDATE: Due to the New Orleans Powerboat Grand Prix taking place on Lake Pontchartrain the same weekend, there will be significant crowds and parking restrictions near our original meeting spot.

To make things easier for everyone, we are shifting the meetup location to: Corner of Codifer & Bonnabel (on the Metairie Road side of Bonnabel, away from the lake). Meet near the mailbox on the New Orleans side of Bonnabel across from St. Catherine's.

Be sure to bring water for your pup and poop bags!

The walk is nearly 2 miles and everyone is encouraged to walk safely at their own pace. Walk all the way or turn around whenever you or your pup has had enough.
