Walk for Weims is designed to be flexible and inclusive. You can participate anywhere on April 12, National Weimaraner Day.

Walk your neighborhood, favorite park, hiking trail, beach, or even your treadmill. Whether you walk solo, with your own pack, or join a local meetup, every step supports Weimaraner rescue.

Find a group walk after you register? No need to re-register. Your registration works for both virtual participation and organized walks—just show up and walk with the pack.

However you participate, you’re part of a nationwide community supporting Weimaraners in need.

Greater New Orleans area Walk for Weims walkers are welcome to join us for a group walk down Bonnabel Greenway in Metairie.

We will meet near the hill at the boat launch end of Bonnabel (not all the way at the launch area!) around 8:30am CT and start walking towards Veterans at 8:45am CT and then back to the Boat Launch for an after-pawty at the Bonnabel Boat Launch Dog Park.

Be sure to bring water for your pup and poop bags!

The walk is nearly 2 miles and everyone is encouraged to walk safely at their own pace. Walk all the way or turn around whenever you or your pup has had enough.

Details: Approximately 2.5 mile moderate walk is planned, however there are multiple trail options to choose from if you prefer an easier or shorter route or maybe you're looking to make a day of it with a longer more challenging excursion through this 577 acre preserve!

Dogs must remain leashed at all times and under complete control of their handler. Please have proof of current rabies vaccination available upon request (printed or digital).

This is a family friendly event. Bring water for you and your pup as well as poop bags. There are no restrooms on the preserve, so please plan accordingly!

Known for its wide open space, off-leash areas, and stunning waterfront views, Fiesta Island is the perfect place for Weimaraners to stretch their legs and celebrate National Weimaraner Day with fellow dog lovers.

Whether you are walking for a rescue dog, in honor of a beloved Weim, or simply to support the breed you love, this San Diego gathering is all about community, connection, and second chances.

Meet us at the top of the steps. From there, we’ll soak up the views, stroll the beach if the tide is low, and connect with fellow Weim addicts who get it.
