Same mission. Different sidewalks.
One unforgettable pack.

Walk for Weims brings Weimaraner lovers together across the country to celebrate the breed we love, amplify the work of rescue, and prove that even when we walk in different places, we can move together for something bigger.

What Is Walk for Weims?

Walk for Weims is a nationwide community event held each year in celebration of National Weimaraner Day.

What began as one idea to help Weimaraner rescues reach more people has quickly grown into a coast-to-coast movement powered by rescue supporters, breed clubs, volunteers, local hosts, and Weim lovers from all walks of life.

Participants can:

  • join an organized local walk,
  • walk virtually from anywhere,
  • support participating rescues and clubs,
  • fundraise if they choose,
  • or simply show up and be part of the community.

Walk for Weims was created to help connect and amplify the many people already working to support and celebrate this incredible breed- from rescue volunteers and advocates to breed clubs, educators, and everyday Weim families.

No matter where someone walks, every participant helps shine a larger spotlight on Weimaraner rescue, education, advocacy, and community.

Because Walk for Weims was built on one simple belief:

When Weim people come together, incredible things happen.

Why We Created It

Across the country, Weimaraner rescues and breed organizations are doing incredible work with limited time, volunteers, and resources.

Many are balancing fundraising, transport, fostering, medical care, applications, education, and daily operations all at once- often while trying to grow awareness and community support at the same time.

Walk for Weims was created to help lighten that load through collaboration, visibility, and shared momentum.

Instead of asking rescues, clubs, and advocates to compete for attention individually, Walk for Weims creates one nationwide opportunity to amplify their efforts together.

The goal was never to replace the important work already happening in the Weim community.

The goal was to help connect it.

To create something welcoming, accessible, and community-driven that gives more people a way to participate in supporting the breed they love- whether through walking, fundraising, volunteering, educating, advocating, or simply showing up.

Because awareness matters.
Community matters.
And rescues should not have to carry the mission alone.

Our Three Pillars

Image

Celebrate the Breed

Weimaraners are unforgettable dogs with larger-than-life personalities, deep loyalty, endless energy, and a way of bringing people together unlike any other breed.

Walk for Weims celebrates everything that makes Weims special from their history and versatility to the everyday joy, humor, chaos, and connection they bring to our lives.

Support Rescue

Rescues work tirelessly to give Weimaraners a second chance through fostering, medical care, transport, placement, education, and advocacy.

Walk for Weims exists to help amplify those efforts by increasing awareness, expanding community support, and creating opportunities for more people to get involved.

Because rescue work becomes stronger when the community behind it grows stronger too.

Grow the Community

Walk for Weims was built to create connection.

Through local walks, virtual participation, storytelling, social media, partnerships, and shared experiences, we’re helping build a more connected and engaged Weimaraner community across the country.

Whether someone is a longtime volunteer, a first-time walker, a breed club member, or simply someone who loves the breed, there’s a place for them here.

Our Impact

In just two years, Walk for Weims has grown from one idea into a nationwide movement connecting Weim lovers across the country in support of rescue, advocacy, education, and community.

Together, this community has already helped create meaningful visibility and support for participating rescues and organizations coast to coast.
