Race Details
Online registration opens January 1, 2026. The Full Moon Trail Series sells out every year and each event is capped at 300 participants total:
- 225 Full Moon Trail Series runners
- 75 Individual race runners
Series pricing is tiered:
- Tier 1 (first 100): $120
- Tier 2 (101–200): $130
- Tier 3 (201–225): $140
- Youth 16 & Under $110
Individual race entry:
- $30 pre-registered
- $35 race day
- Youth 16 & under: $25

If you register for the Full Moon Trail Series, you are automatically entered into all four races.
Participants should plan to arrive:
- 90 minutes early for the first race (if they did not pick up at the early packet pickup)
- 60 minutes early for all remaining races (to find parking, use restrooms, warmup/stretch)
Race day packet pickup opens:
- 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM for the June 30 Pine Hollow race
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM for all other races
All races begin at 6:15 PM.
- Participants expecting an 18-minute mile pace or slower must arrive early for a 6:00 PM early start.
- Series runners only check in at their first event and must use the same bib for all four races. Individual runners check in at every event and receive a new bib each time.
- Late arrivals may not receive an official timed result.
Yes. Early packet pickup will be available on Friday, June 26 from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Hermes Sports office.

Why should I use early packet pickup?
It’s a great option for runners planning to come directly from work to the Tuesday evening race and want to avoid rush-hour delays.
All 4 races will still have a race-day packet pickup option.
New for 2026, runners can save by bundling any Full Moon Trail Series registration with a Viking Relays & Races entry on November 7. Discounts apply whether you register for individual Full Moon races or the full series, and regardless of which Viking event you choose. Simply select the bundle option during registration to have the savings applied automatically.

Where exactly is South Mastick Picnic Area located?
The picnic area is located off Valley Parkway in the Rocky River Reservation, south of Puritas Road/Mastick Road.
The Full Moon Trail Series uses official MyLaps chip timing, with timing chips attached to the back of each bib.
Series runners must wear the same bib for all four races, while individual runners receive a new bib at each event.
Split-point timing mats are placed along the course for bonus point challenges and live tracking.
Participants arriving late may not receive an official result. If you notice a timing issue after results are posted, contact Roadracing@hermescleveland.com.
Series Scoring uses Age-Graded Results to create a competitive leaderboard across all ages and genders.
- Every finisher earns points at each race, with higher age-graded performances earning more points.
- Full Series runners receive an automatic 1,000-point participation bonus, and runners can earn additional bonus points for achieving a negative split during each race.
- Individual race participants are included in race scoring, but only Full Moon Trail Series runners are eligible for end-of-season awards.
- Final awards are presented to the top 12 male/female overall point earners at the Series Celebration Cookout following the final race.

Virtual participants may complete each race during its designated submission window and upload results through their RunSignUp account.
Submission windows:
- June 1–30 (3 Mile)
- July 1–31 (4 Mile)
- August 1–31 (3 Mile)
- September 1–30 (5 Mile)
Packets will be mailed after the first live event in June.
Virtual participants are welcome to attend the final Awards Ceremony & Celebration Cookout.
Manual result submission is only available for full-series virtual participants.

No, dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course due to narrow trail conditions.
Yes - trail runners anticipating an 18 minute mile pace or slower, are required to begin at the early 6:00 PM start to cover some trail before the 6:15PM mass start.
Please check-in with the timer at the start line and we'll see you off.
Please note, trail miles are typically slower than road races.
Yes, every race will have 1-water stop. Locations may vary based on each race route, and will be announced before the start.
- Those who need additional water must carry a handheld water bottle with them.
Water will be availabel at the finish provided by Magnetic Springs.

Restroom huts are located at the start finish only.
We highly recommend participants arrive early to use restrooms, stretch and warmp before the start.
There is no bag check available, but parking is nearby the start of all events.

Yes, but please keep volume low. Participants must be able to hear those around you.
Trail running requires patience, awareness, and respect for others on the course.
- Runners should stay on the right hand side of the trail when single file, allowing others to pass on their left.
- Please announce passes clearly (“On your left”), allow room on narrow trails, and be courteous to fellow runners and park visitors.
- Participants are encouraged to keep headphone volume low, stay on marked trails, avoid littering, and help preserve the parks.
- Walking is completely acceptable - just move to the side when safe to allow others to pass.
- Trail conditions may include mud, rocks, roots, and uneven terrain, so proper footwear and cautious footing are recommended.
All registrations are non-refundable.
Series participants may:
- Defer to the 2027 Series for a $30 fee prior to June 30
- Transfer to virtual for free prior to June 30
- Transfer their entry to another runner for free prior to June 30

Events will not be cancelled due to weather. Courses and start times may be adjusted if conditions require modifications.
