1. What is the Girls on the Run Empower Up Fitness Challenge?
Girls on the Run is thrilled to serve as the beneficiary of the inaugural Empower Up Fitness Challenge. Starting February 1, participants will complete fitness activities of their choice and log miles to reach a total mileage goal over of 125 or 225 miles over the course of nine weeks. New Distances! Wave 2 challenge distances of 25 and 50 miles start March 1. Wave 2 also features a fresh start on the 125-mile distance for those who missed the start of Wave 1. The Empower Up Fitness Challenge will culminate on March 31. In addition to the two challenge options, participants may also add on 5K or 10K events that celebrate inspirational female trailblazer
2. When does the 2021 Empower Up Fitness Challenge take place?
Wave 1 runs from February 1 - March 31, 2021 and features two distances (125 or 225 miles). Wave 2 starts March 1 and ends March 31 with distances of 25, 50, and 125 miles. You can log your miles throughout the entire period.
3. Where do I complete my virtual challenge?
Anywhere! The beauty of a virtual race is you can complete it wherever you are. 
4. What distances are offered?
Wave 1 (Feb 1 - March 31): 125 miles and 225 miles
Wave 2 (March 1 - 31): 25, 50, and 125 miles
5. What activities can I do to complete my race? Do I have to run or walk?

You have multiple ways you can complete the challenge including running, walking, cycling, skating, skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, and rowing/paddling. Another perk of a virtual event!
6. What is included with a registration for the 2021 Empower Up Fitness Challenge?
A quarter zip pullover, finisher medal, face mask, participant bib, access to tracking and interactive course experience app, and a digital finisher certificate.
7. How do I get my swag?
Packets will be mailed in March to the shipping address you provided during registration.
8. How do I use the RaceJoy app?
Check out our RaceJoy page for all the details. The app can be downloaded from your android or Apple device's app store for free.
9. Do I have to use the RaceJoy app? Can I use another app like MapMyRun, Strava, etc?
While you'll miss the fun audio messages delivered to your ears... Yes, you can use whichever app you prefer. You will still need to log your miles through RunSignUp in order to have your progress and results displayed with your fellow challengers.

11. How do I fundraise for Girls on the Run?
Within the registration form, RunSignUp will ask if you want to become a fundraiser. You can set your goal and customize your page with your story, why you are fundraising, and photos.
