Packet Pick-Up
Job Description: Volunteers at packet pickup will assist with checking runners in, confirming bib numbers, and handing out bibs, shirts, and swag for the event.
What to Expect: Volunteers located here are the first smiling faces our runners will see. These positions are available some of the few that take place not only on race day, but on the days leading up to it as well.
Setup & Breakdown
Job Description: Volunteers will assist in either the setup or breakdown of the event.
What to Expect: These events require a ton of equipment, and we couldn't possibly get it all ready without our amazing volunteers! At this position you will be moving tables, tents, waters, signage, and boxes either in or out of our trucks.
*This position is best for those who are prepared to lift up to 60lbs*
Course Marshal
Job Description: Volunteers will be stationed throughout the course directing runners at some of our turning points to ensure no one runs off course.
What to Expect: You will be sent instructions before the event with a breakdown of your position and the direction for the runners. On race day you can go directly to your location at your assigned time.
Finish Line
Job Description: Volunteers will be stationed at the finish line handing out medals and waters when the runners take their final steps!
What to Expect: When you arrive onsite your station will be stocked with everything you will need for the day including medals, waters, Gatorade mix, cups, tables, tablecloths, etc.
Water Stations
Job Description: Volunteers stationed at our water stops are responsible for handing out water and Gatorade to runners as they pass and cheering everyone on!
What to Expect: When you arrive onsite your station will be stocked with everything you will need for the day including waters, Gatorade mix, cups, tables, tablecloths, first aid kit, instructions, etc. Volunteers in Shift #1 will help setup the area while volunteers in Shift #2 will help with the breakdown. A YMCA staff member will come through to drop all supplies off and pick them up when the race is complete.
Parking
Job Description: Volunteers will assist in parking the vehicles for the event, directing the staff, sponsors, and vendors to their dedicated parking lot, and keeping any participant walking through the parking lot safe.
What to Expect: Volunteers will be given a vest, flag, and lanyard day of when they check in, and recieve a walkthrough of the morning with instructions.
