DISTANCE
This is a 5k course. That means it is 3.1 miles. It is measured multiple times with a fixed diameter wheeled device. The course is measured by cutting tangents at each corner. This means your GPS device may report that you covered more than 3.1 miles distance as you likely weaved in an out of others and did NOT stick to the inside of each corner.
RESTROOMS
Port-a-johns are located in the Expo Area near the start and finish in addition to: 1/2 mile, 1.2 mile, & 2.2 mile.
WATER
All 3W Events maintain a cup-free finish area. Bring your own water bottle. At the finish line, there will be no cups. You can leave your water bottle at the finish/start area or in your car, as parking is very close to the finish line. There will be water for refilling your personal bottle in the expo.
There is no water station on the 5k Course.
COURSE SURFACE
The majority of this trail is on CONCRETE with several wooden foot bridges and intermittent crushed gravel. ALL of the course is at least 8 feet wide.
COURSE CUT OFF
Course cut off is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Official finish line and expo will close at 10:10 AM. This is a 22min 30sec per mile pace. (We really think you can do it!!!)
GPS TRACKING
Friends near and far can send FREE cheers and track your progress when you use the RaceJoy App - INCLUDED with your registration!
Course Markings
The course is marked with two materials: Cones and Signs.
Signs are posted on the right hand side of the pathway - always look to the RIGHT side of the path when needing direction. Signs are 18"x12" Coroplast on H Stakes (That means they are near to the ground, not in the air.) Signs are posted BEFORE a decision point. If you come to a fork in the path and don't see a sign, you probably passed the signage which is behind you on the right side of the pathway.
Cones are used to block pathways you should not take. Cones are 2" high and colored safety orange or safey yellow. Again, they are on the GROUND. Please look down to see if a path has been blocked by small cones.
