Race FAQs

These are questions and answers related to the RACE event - please see FUNDRAISER FAQs page regarding Fundraising Questions.


Q: Can I transfer my registration to another runner?

A:  No.  Transfers are not allowed nor required at this event.  The cost to enter the timed run is FREE.  If you can't run on race day and someone wants to go in your place, they should simply register as a participant.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: No.  Registrants do not pay any amount for the race portion of this event, therefore there is nothing to refund. 

Q: How do I change my selected shirt size?

A: Enter your RunSIgnUp Profile, scroll to 'Upcoming Events' and then click on the words 'manage registration' next to I Can 5k.  From there, look for the menu option 'GIVEAWAY' where you may edit the size up until 72 hours before the start of the event.

Q:  I can't make it to race day, how do I get my swag?

A:  Each Charity Partner will contact those who missed race-day regarding a post-race pick up event which will be scheduled at a time and location that is up to the Charity Parnter.  You will be contacted via EMAIL from the Charity Partner within the week after the event.

What is the course surface?

How long can I be on the race course?

Is it okay if I walk on the course?

Q: Will the race still happen if there is a weather event?  (E.g. What if it is raining?)

A: We will produce the event under almost any conditions.  If there is SEVERE weather such as active lightning, tornado, extreme low temperatures (below 0*F) or white-out blizzard conditions, then the event may be postponed (up to 1 hour) or canceled.  There is no alternate date scheduled for the event.  Of course, event swag would be made available to registrants at an alternative date/location, if this is ever the case.  If that is the case, announcements will be made on the race webpage in addition to racer email/text communication. 99.9% of the time, the race will go on as scheduled.
