Cancellation & Refund Policy
IF YOU CHOOSE TO WITHDRAW YOUR APPLICATION PRIOR TO THE SELECTION COMMITTEE MEETING
All Individuals or Relay Team Captains must submit a $100 application fee for the event. This fee is non-refundable should you choose to withdraw your application prior to being presented in front of the Selection Committee.
- The Selection Committee will meet regarding Individual athletes on or before March 15, 2023.
- The Selection Committee will meet regarding Relay Teams on or before April 15, 2023.
IF YOU ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE
After careful review of your swim resume, if the Selection Committee offers you (or your team) a spot in the race, you will have 2 weeks to remit the balance of the registration fee based on the event you or your team is selected for. The balance of the registration fee is non-refundable except under some conditions of race cancellation as outlined below. If the balance is not received within 2 weeks, your spot may be forfeited and/or offered to another participant.
IF YOU ARE NOT SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE
After a careful review of your swim resume, if the Selection Committee determines you do not meet the criteria to participate, no additional payment will be requested.
IF THE RACE IS CANCELLED BY THE ORGANIZERS DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN WEATHER
In the unfortunate case we must cancel the event due to war, fire, labor strikes, picketing, facility construction or renovation projects, government regulation, public catastrophe, bomb threats, pandemics, act of God or the public enemy, or other causes beyond the control of Green Whales Racing, athletes will receive their choice of the following: full refund of registration less $50 administrative fee OR apply the registration amount paid to the 2023 event.
IF THE RACE IS CANCELLED BY THE ORGANIZERS DUE TO WEATHER ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT
If determined by the Race Referee and Green Whales Racing that weather conditions on the day of the race are unsafe for participants, athletes will be given a coupon for 50% off next year's event.
