Description
The Power Mile Road Race is the premier road mile in the Gulf South.
Over the past three years, the Power Mile has raised over $20,000 for charity. Each year we bring more than 500 participants, volunteers, and spectators to West End Park to enjoy the race and festivities. The Power Mile is returning to West End Park in 2025! The course is flat, fast, and enjoyable for both runners and spectators alike. Enjoy beautiful sunset views, food, and a frosty beverage post-race along Lake Pontchartrain.

Race Day Schedule:
Packet pickup and late registration: 4:30 to 6:30 pm
Kids half mile: 5:45pm
Half mile awards: 6:00 pm
Open mile: 6:30 pm
Elite mile: 7:00 pm
Mile awards: 7:20 pm
Beer mile relay: 7:45 pm

Beer Mile Relay
New in 2025! The Power Mile Beer Mile Relay!
Teams of four compete for the championship. Each runner chugs a beer and runs a quarter mile. How fast can your team complete the mile? We expect a competitive field, so bring your best chuggers!
- You must be 21 or older to participate
- You may bring your own beer, but it must be approved by the race director prior to the start of the race
- Teams are mixed gender
- Register for the beer mile relay as a separate event
- The beer mile relay is held after the conclusion of the mile race. You may race in both events.
- The first person to register for team creates a team name and password; other participants need to select the correct team when registering and supply the team password
