FAQs

  • Why the 0.2 miles?
    • The last 0.2 miles is the best part of a marathon! Throughout my marathon training, I have pushed myself to go an extra .2 for all of my long runs. It began as a mental game to prove I can go a little farther than I set out to do. It has also come to represent that little piece of the whole me that cancer took, and running the extra .2 after a long run is symbolic to me of taking some of that back. Cancer takes a little piece of everyone it touches, whether it is physical, mental, or a piece of your heart. By registering for this event, you are helping support cancer research. Together we can have a large impact on the future of cancer prevention and treatment.
  • How much of the money raised is actually going to cancer research?
    • 100% of the funds raised will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. The program enables scientists at the leading edge of discovery to achieve better cure rates and to enhance patients' quality of life.
  • What if I'm not a runner?
    • Not a problem! You can run, walk, or skip your chosen distance.
  • What if I just want to donate to this great cause?
