Join us as we kick off the Traffic Jam'in Festival with a flat, scenic 5k run/walk around the lake and nearby neighborhood. USATF certified 5K course. Finish strong in front of our community Events Park Pavilion while listening to live music! Water station at the 1/2 way mark and refreshments and award ceremony following the 5K. Music on the course!
Looking for a competitive push? We will have a safe gun start at 7:30 pm. Open start line for all other participants will be from 7:35 pm to 8:00 pm.
Results will still be entered in as a whole from both starts, whether you run in the competitive heat or the open start. There will not be separate awards from each group.

Packet Pickup information: Wednesday, July 7th, 4-8pm at the Grass Lake Farmer's Market, GL Community Events Park, 120 Brown St. Thursday, July 8th from 7am to 1pm. and Friday, July 9th from 7am to noon and 5pm to 6:30pm at the Roaming Goat, 115 S. Lake St., Grass Lake.
Be sure to pre-register for the race! There is no race day registration. On-line registration will remain open until 11:59 pm on Thursday, July 8th.
Team Discount: Form a Team of 4 or more and receive a $5 per person team discount.

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live during the race and posted on this site.
** If any CDC, State, and or Local guidelines mandate a change to a virtual event, all participants will be switched to virtual and there will be no refunds.
We ask that all participants and spectators adhere to the following safe race practices:
- Wear masks/face coverings prior to racing and while picking up your packet
- Maintain social distance
- Do not congregate in groups
- Masks/face coverings during the races will not be mandated or policed

If you cannot make the Traffic Jam'in 5k Run/Walk in person, but would still like to support this cause, you can complete the VIRTUAL Traffic Jam'in 5k Run/Walk! A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. All participants will receive a medal!
What: This is a Virtual 5K, so you choose your own course and time yourself.
When: Complete your race any time on or before July 12th! *Medals and t-shirts will ship by the end of July.
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself. E-mail email@example.com with your results. You may include more formal results from your Garmin, treadmill, or other fitness tracking device (although this is not required) all we need is your distance and your time via email.
Why: We are raising money to support these wonderful charities; Friends of Jay, Excelsior Masonic Lodge 116, Grass Lake Senior Center, American Legion Post 250, VFW Post 10194, Grass Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Lost Railway Museum, Knights of Columbus - Jackson County.
Cost: The price is $25 and includes a finishers medal and a T-shirt. You must register by 6/10 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, mid-Michigan’s best physical therapy and sports performance coaching company presents the ORS Race Series with races of all distances and challenge levels.
The Series’ mission is to provide incentives and opportunities for Jackson and surrounding communities to get fit and active.

The challenge encourages Michiganders to engage with events that promote physical activity, health and wellness.
