Join us as we kick off the Traffic Jam'in Festival with a flat, scenic 5k run/walk around the lake and nearby neighborhood. USATF certified 5K course. Finish strong in front of our community Events Park Pavilion while listening to live music! Water station at the 1/2 way mark and refreshments and award ceremony following the 5K. Music on the course!

Packet Pickup information: Thursday, July 9th from 4-8pm, Roaming Goat, 115 S. Lake St., Grass Lake. On race day at the Start/Finish area from 5:30pm until race start.
Team Discount: Form a Team of 4 or more and receive a $5 per person team discount.

If you cannot make the Traffic Jam'in 5k Run/Walk in person, but would still like to support this cause, you can complete the VIRTUAL Traffic Jam'in 5k Run/Walk! A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. All participants will receive a medal!
What: This is a Virtual 5K, so you choose your own course and time yourself.
When: Complete your race any time on or before July 12th! *Medals and t-shirts will ship by the end of July.
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your results. You may include more formal results from your Garmin, treadmill, or other fitness tracking device (although this is not required) all we need is your distance and your time via email.
Why: We are raising money to support these wonderful charities; Friends of Jay, Excelsior Masonic Lodge 116, American Legion Post 250, VFW Post 10194, Grass Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Lost Railway Museum, Knights of Columbus - Jackson County.
Cost: The price is $20 and includes a finishers medal and a T-shirt. You must register by 6/10 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
2020 will mark the first year for the Henry Ford Allegiance Health Get Moving 5K Run/Walk Series. We’re excited to have 5 races as part of the series to help our community be more physically fit. Part of our mission is to lead our community to better health, so our goal is to get residents off the couch and outside walking and running. We encourage all ages, and all levels of fitness to participate in our run/walk series. We want to help motivate you to take your first steps to better fitness, while the races help you keep moving all year long.

This race is endorsed by The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and part of the Michigan Fitness Foundation Challenge. The challenge encourages Michiganders to engage with events that promote physical activity, health and wellness.
