The Gear!
We have a special shirt this year featuring two arm badges along with our traditional Flash Dash bolt!
Right Arm: If you've run Flash Dash before you've likely met Scott Green (aka The Bearded Runner); he is a great supporter and ambassador of not only our race, but many races across the city over the years. In 2023, Scott was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer; his story is one of perseverance, endurance, resilience, and the power of the running community. Join us as we honor The Bearded Runner and celebrate the lives of all those affected by cancer.
Left Arm: Behind the scenes of every Brandon’s FlashDash, Renee Martinez, longtime friend of Brandon, has worked countless hours to ensure vendors and activities go off with out a hitch. On February 14th after the Kansas City Chiefs parade, Renee, the St. Agnes community of Roeland Park, Kansas, and the entire Kansas City community were struck with tragedy. There was mass shooting of 23 people, leaving 1 person dead. Sadly, that person was Lisa Lopez-Galvan who was a dear friend of Renee and huge part of the St. Agnes community. Among those also shot were sisters Melia and Madison Reyes, third and fourth graders at St. Agnes. ‘St. Agnes strong’ represents our support for Lisa’s family, Melia, Madison, Renee, and the entire St. Agnes community as they continue to stay ‘St. Agnes Strong’ through this unthinkable tragedy.
