Description

Lake Abiquiu is the beautiful backdrop for an  Open Water Swim.  The 1.1 Mile Loop will begin at the beach just to the right of Abiquiu Boat Ramp.  Swimmers will enter the water from the beach, and hug the shoreline, enter into the cove, swim around the buoy keeping it to your left, and back out into the main lake to the right, and around a big pink buoy, swimming a straight line back to shore, and the finish. The 5ker's will swim 3 loops of the 1.1 Mile course.

In 2020 there will be 3 swimming events run as a series, you must swim in at least two swims to be considered for Overall Series Standings.

There is also an Open Water Swim Clinic available, if you simply want to gain more confidence, and knowledge on how to navigate your way through an open water event.

The estimated water temperatures will be between 65 and 75 degrees, the swim will be wetsuit optional.

This is a USMS Sanctioned Event.  A USMS Annual Membership or Day License is mandatory with a signed waiver to participate.  The day pass to the park is included in the cost of your registration.  Please arrive early to fill out waivers, an necessary paperwork.
