Description

2024 Lake Placid Training Camp

Experience the Ironman Lake Placid course during our 2-day or 4-day Lake Placid triathlon training camp to be held June 6-9, 2024.

Lake Placid offers some of the most iconic and challenging training for triathletes. Our training camp is excellent for:

  • Race specific training for Ironman Lake Placid
  • Preparation for hilly 70.3 or 140.6 triathlon courses in mid to late summer or early fall.
  • Improving your overall knowledge and ability in triathlon - we work closely with each athlete throughout the weekend. You don't need to have a race on the horizon to benefit from this camp!
  • Building community and camaraderie

All abilities are welcome!

Our camp will help you achieve your big dreams, with supported workouts, educational clinics, and small group-based instruction. We promise an experience as epic as your surroundings!

What is the difference between 4-day or 2-day?

Our 4-day camp is a comprehensive training experience, feature both skill-based work as well as quality workouts. The 4-day camp is a great option for athletes looking to learn as much as they are looking to train.

Our 2-day camp is a great option for athletes who want to experience the Lake Placid swim, bike and run course, while learning from our nightly educational sessions.

What is included?

  • Daily training workouts with options for 70.3 or 140.6 triathlon training. Specifics of the triathlon training camp vary with 4-day and 2-day option.
  • SAG support
  • On-course water & aid stops (2 per loop of the main bike route, 2 per loop on the run). Aid stops will include: Electrolytes, Partner Fueling and Hydration products, oranges, bananas, chips, etc.
  • Daily educational sessions on topics related to 70.3 and 140.6 triathlon training and racing - ample opportunities to ask questions! Our coaches will be AVAILABLE to you!
  • FOOD
    • Team Meals included with base registration fee: Wednesday night (snacks); Thursday (lunch & dinner), Friday (lunch & dinner) & Saturday (dinner). Meals prepared by our Private Chefs from Stir It Up Catering. Additionally, all campers will have access to the kitchen at headquarters to make meals from the pantry when a team meal isn't available, such as breakfast each morning and lunch on Saturday, and snacks on any day. If you have special dietary needs, please be sure to bring what will work for you. We will accommodate vegetarian, nut allergies, dairy free, and gluten free.
    • We will stock the kitchen with the "regulars" for breakfast, snacks and lunch items (for days when we don't have team lunch). You are welcome to bring your own food as well. Close proximity to Mirror Lake, Main Street & the Olympic Oval.
    • Your registration fee (whether or not you stay at team headquarters) includes access to team meals, and foods for breakfast, snacks and lunch (for days when we don't have team meals).
  • Option to register for Team Lodging - shared and private rooms, with bunk style accommodations. Three houses, each with a full kitchen, behind High Peaks Cyclery. Please note: LODGING IS LIMITED. Why is Our Training Camp Different?

You won't be a number in a big group. We cap our triathlon training camp entries at just 25 athletes, so you are coached throughout the weekend.

Our staff includes USAT-certified coaches, so you'll receive personal attention, on-course support, instruction, and a supportive group community. Our coaches and staff have a combined 20 times racing the LP course, and over a decade of experience training on the course!

The 4-day clinic features hands-on practical clinics (such as open water technique, bike handling, and run form). Both 2-day and 4-day campers will enjoy educational presentations, team meals, and open daily Q&A sessions (you control the topic!). Our 4-day campers will take part in hands-on skills-based clinics, as well as sessions that explain the "how" and "why" of training. Our 2-day camp is a perfect fit to learn and sample the Lake Placid course, while learning from the coaches during our afternoon educational sessions.

Our camp is the right balance of work hard, play hard that will make this feel as much like an adult summer camp vacation as it is training to destroy your big dreams!
