Annual Walter E. Brandon Sickle Cell 5K Walk/Fun Run Fundraiser

After careful consideration and with the health and safety of our sickle cell community, participants, volunteers, staff, partners, and supporters as our highest priority, the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter has made the difficult decision to cancel the 28th Annual Walter E. Brandon Sickle Cell 5K Walk/Fun Run due to the anticipated impact and unpredictability of the approaching Nor’easter throughout our region. While we are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to gather together in person this year, the safety and well-being of our community will always come before fundraising. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who registered, donated, sponsored, volunteered, participated, or otherwise helped make this year’s event possible.

❤️ What Happens to Your Registration or Donation?

We understand that everyone may have different preferences regarding their contribution. Paid participants and donors may choose one of the following options:

1. Request a Refund
Paid participants who would like a refund may request one.

2. Receive a Credit Toward Next Year’s Walk/Fun Run
You may choose to have your registration payment credited toward next year’s event.

3. Keep Your Contribution in This Year’s Fundraiser
If you would like your registration fee and/or donation to remain with this year’s fundraiser, your generosity will continue to support the mission and programs of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter. Donations are welcomed, even after the event date, until December 31st, 2026. Click HERE to donate.
